‘Blue Bandit’ from Rusty Wallace Chevrolet goes to Derrick Fowler

Derrick Fowler holds his “winning ticket” for the 2017 Blue Bandit Camaro.
Thursday night Rusty Wallace Chevrolet in Clinton almost became a city unto itself.

And by the end of the night Derrick Fowler was proclaimed mayor — complete with a 2017 “Blue Bandit” Camaro.

In a contest sponsored by Rusty Wallace Chevrolet, Pilot, Commercial Bank, and WIMZ 103.5 Classic Rock, 12 finalists had a chance at the car.

“I don’t know how many thousands entered,” Rusty Wallace Manager Mark Troutt said. “And those were narrowed down to 250 … Then 12.”

Those 12 were given the option of picking a hole in a box — sorta like “whack-a-mole” and the one who pulled out the “Blue Bandit” paperwork took home the car.

“We had people everywhere,” Troutt said about Thursday night’s contest final.

“We were having trouble parking everyone.”

To enter the contest you registered at one the sponsors or during a WIMZ remote broadcast.
