Lady Red Devils too much for Lady Mavs

The Anderson County Lady Mavericks dropped a district game to the visiting Halls Lady Red Devils by a score of 63-34 last Friday night.

The first quarter saw almost an even basket for basket game as Halls pulled into a 14-13 lead. The difference in the game came in the second quarter when the Lady Mavs went ice cold from the floor. The Lady Red Devils took full advantage and outscored Anderson County 20-5 to claim a 34-18 lead at halftime.

The Lady Mavs offense came back to life in the third quarter as Brooklyn McCoy, Maci Houser, Mollie Longmire, and Tea Hickson put points on the board for Anderson County. Unfortunately for the Lady Mavs, Halls managed to put up one point more in the quarter to go up 48-31.

Anderson County managed just three points in the fourth quarter as the hot shooting Lady Red Devils lived up to their name and pulled away for the win.

Panda Riggs of Halls led all scorers with 25 points.

McCoy led the Lady Mavs with 17 points.

Anderson County returns to action on Friday when they visit Powell at 6 p.m. They open play in the Anderson County Christmas Tournament on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against South Doyle.
