ACE vollyball teams place second in Southeast

How do you follow-up winning back-to-back State Middle School Volleyball Championships? You keep your team together and finish runner-up in the Southeastern United States, which is what ACE did, this past weekend in Atlanta, Ga.

ACE, which is mostly made up of the Norris Lady Senators, is coached by Lorri Johnson, and assisted by her husband, Junior Johnson. Lorri is a graduate of Norris High School, and has built State caliber programs at South Young High School; Soddy Daisy High School; and she won Conference Championships as head volleyball coach at Carson Newman University before returning back to Knoxville and coaching the 14 and under ACE club team.

In order to play in the Southeast Regional Championships, a team has to first qualify by winning a Regional Qualifying Tournament. ACE did that by winning multiple tournaments before heading to Atlanta for the Regional Championships.

This Tournament is the largest tournament that the girls played in all season, with over 100 teams competing for the title. ACE was successful, going undefeated into the Finals where they lost in the Championship match, 25-27, 25-23 in a hard-fought contest.
