Lady Mavs shut out Fulton to end regular season
Anderson County’s softball team concluded its regular season Monday, April 30 at Gary Houck Field as the Lady Mavericks shut out Fulton 12-0 in a game called after the top of the fourth inning due to the mercy rule
AC pitchers Hannah Bruce and Hannah Freeman combined to limit their guests to two hits while the Lady Mavs’ offensive attack resulted in a seven-run first inning, three
more in the second and two in the third.
First-inning runs driven in by Emilee Fowler, Courtney Lively, Aundria Long and Maddie Sickau got the AC scoring machine once against taking quick control. Makenzie Jones, Mallorie Overton and Sickau drove in secondinning runs. Overton drove in two more runs with a thirdinning single.
The Lady Mavs are hosting this week’s District 3-AAA Tournament.
