Three ’Cats receive scholarship offers

Three Oak Ridge High School football players have recently received scholarship offers, according the school’s athletic department Twitter account.

Defensive end Elijah Bradley and tight end/defensive end/linebacker Vashawn Nalls each received an offer from Kentucky Wesleyan University after attending the school’s football camp.

Running back De’Jauvis Dozier received a scholarship offer from Virginia-Wise on June 21.





Tee Higgins hosting youth football camp

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins will host a youth football camp at Blankenship Field from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, July 8.

The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8.

Higgins played football and basketball for Oak Ridge and went on to play wide receiver for Clemson, where he and the Tigers won the national championship in 2019, his sophomore season. He was drafted by the Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, going with the No. 33 overall selection.





Lynch recognized as elite soccer player

Oak Ridge High School soccer player Eli Lynch, who plays his club soccer for FC Alliance, was recently recognized as one of the Top 90 players in the Elite Clubs National League. Lynch will also play in the Conference Cup from July 31-Aug. 4 in suburban San Diego. The tournament will be held in Chula Vista, California.
