Clinton defeats Greenback, Knox West on senior night

  • Clinton wrestler Riley Silk defeated his Greenback opponent during Clinton’s home dual match against Greenback and Knoxville West. According to TrackWresling.com, the senior has a 2023-24 record of 21 wins and three losses.   • Dragons wrestler Parker Sanchez won over Seymour’s Duke Delozier during last Wednesday’s Regional Duals at Seymour High School. According to TrackWrestling.com, Sanchez, a senior, has a 2023-24 season record of 17 wins and four losses. - Amy Strange

Clinton High School’s boys wrestling team closed out the home portion of its dual meet schedule with a pair of victories Friday night at the Don W. Lockard Gymnasium.

The Dragons routed Greenback 65-15 and topped Knoxville West 53-22 on Senior Night for the CHS program.

Clinton opened with a victory over the Cherokees as Justice Snyder (120 pounds), Caleb Kendall (126), Bryce Bunch (132), Hayden Harrell (144), Riley Silk (150), Ben Dewald (157), Matson Kent (165) and Jordan Smith (175) all prevailed in their bouts by forfeit.

Aaron Solberg (106) and Dalton Kendall (285) notched victories via the pin, while 138-pounder Parker Sanchez won by technical fall.

Against the Rebels, Solberg won by forfeit. Aiden Ambrosia (113 pounds) scored a decision.

Snyder, Caleb Kendall, Sanchez, Harrell, Silk, Roman Hollifield (165) and Dalton Kendall all won by fall.

Senior Night wrapped up a busy week for the Clinton grapplers, who finished second in the District Duals and took fourth in the Region
