OR girls stay unbeaten in district play

After an extended break due to inclement weather, the Oak Ridge High School girls basketball team returned to the hardwood late last week, picking up a pair of District 3-4A road victories.

ORHS (12-7 overall, 6-0 in the district) made the trip to Jacksboro Saturday night and left with a 66-53 victory over host Campbell County.

Four Lady Bobcats posted double figures in the scoring column against the Lady Cougars. Ayana Porter led the way with 23 points. Ze’Yana Stewart added 17. Euleesha Mitchell had 13 and Jenna Johnson finished with 10 points.

On Friday night, the Lady Bobcats routed Knoxville Halls 76-40 in North Knox County. It was Oak Ridge’s second win over the Lady Devils this season.

Johnson scored 17 points against Halls, while Stewart and Porter added 16 points apiece.
