Judge deployed by US Army

JUVENILE COURT JUDGE BRIAN HUNT
In Anderson County, he served as a juvenile court judge, but overseas he’s an international and operational law officer for the Africa Civil Affairs Battalion.

U.S. Army Maj. Brian Hunt is on a nine-and-a-half-month deployment that started last August.

He’s at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Horn of Africa.

Camp Lemonnier is a joint operating base that has Navy, Army, Air Force and Marine personnel, Hunt said.

“Djibouti is a combat zone area of operations,” he said. “Camp Lemonnier serves to counter violent extremist organizations and promote stability and security in the Horn of Africa.”
