OR track posts top marks in Alabama

Both Oak Ridge High School track teams had athletes post some top marks at the Mountain Brook Invitational in Alabama late last week.

The Lady Wildcats’ Seven Pettus had a big meet in the sprints. She posted two of the Top 10 times recorded in the girls’ 200-meter dash. She had the fourth-best time, at 25.58 seconds.

She also put up the sixth-best time in the event (26.36).

Pettus finished ninth in the 400-meter run as she crossed the finish line in 1:01. 20. She was also 12th in the 100-meter dash (12.96 seconds).

Dylan Job posted a pair of Top 15 efforts in her events in Alabama. She finished 10th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16.69. She was 12th in the 1,600-meter run, finishing the race in 5:16.40.

The Lady Wildcats had two athletes post top marks in the shot put competition.

Olivia Land placed 10th with an effort of 32 feet, 1 inch, while Sophia Hughes came in 12th with a mark of 31 feet, 10 inches.

For the Oak Ridge boys, Mason Greenhalgh finished 12th in the 800-meter run as he crossed the finish line in 1 minute, 57.07 seconds.

Tyree Porter came in 13th in the boys’ long jump as he posted a mark of 19 feet, 10.5 inches.
