Lady Senators split rain-soaked week
The Norris Middle School softball team was the only team not to have its entire schedule rained out last week.
The Lady Senators split a pair of games last week. They closed things out Friday with a 2-0 victory over North Middle School.
On Monday, April 8, Norris lost to Fort Loudoun 5-4.
The Lady Braves jumped out to an early lead as they scored all five of their runs in the second inning.
Norris, which trailed 5-2 heading to the top of the sixth inning, nearly notched a comeback as it scored twice in its final at-bat.
Haley Cornett led the Lady Senators’ offensive attack as she went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a stolen base. Izzy Aulisio was 1-for-3 and scored two runs.
Jaycee Hunley and Kinza Plummer each went 1-for-2.
Shyla Tindell was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
