Elijah Glenn Alley

Elijah Glenn Alley, 45, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on Feb. 9, 1979, to Joe Alley and Rejeanne Coleman. Elijah was a graduate of Anderson County High School, class of 1996, and was a proud “Mav for life.” He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Tusculum University.

Elijah worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad and later for Bentley and Associates. He also coached Little League football for NAGAF and Norris Middle School. Elijah was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Zelmer and Pauline Alley, Sebron and Rhea Coleman; aunts, Michelle Miklas and Simone Boyer; and uncles, Timothy Coleman, Mark Coleman, and Jerry Alley.

Elijah is survived by his loving parents, Rejeanne Coleman and Joe Alley; his son, Slade Alley; and special friends, Davey Gillum, Richie Noe, Lewis Thurman, Rodd Noe, and “Mom and Dad” Noe. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he dearly loved.

The family extends special thanks to UT Hospice nurses Whitney, Melissa, Christy, and Angel, as well as Dr. Pearman and Chaplain Ben Neal. Very special thanks go to Adrienne Walker, Gabrielle and Paul Burn, Leann Mullins, and Debra Dison.

The family received friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral followed in the chapel, officiated by the Rev. Davey Gillum. Family and friends proceeded in a funeral procession to Norris Memorial Garden for Elijah’s interment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Anderson County High School Football Program, 130 Maverick Circle, Clinton, TN 37716.
