Margie Joann (Brady) Berney
Margie Joann (Brady) Berney, 89, of Powell, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She loved the Lord and was a charter member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a 1955 graduate of Norris High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ona Brady; brother, Bruce Brady Jr.; and sister, Florence Brady.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Jack Berney; daughters, Jackie Horner and husband Ronnie, and Lori Norris and husband Joe; grandchildren, Joshua Norris and wife Jessica, Jennifer Archer and husband Floyd, Rachael Holt, Jessica Hayes and husband Jacob, Elisha Grubb and husband Nick, and April Swindle and husband Patrick; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a blessing to everyone. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice for its care.
Friends and family stopped by Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Family and friends met at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for a noon graveside service, with the Revs. Joe Norris and Ronnie Horner officiating.
