Billy Jean Evans
Billy Jean Evans, 90, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026. He was born Nov. 10, 1935, to Leland and Lois Evans.
Bill was a dedicated husband and father who was known for building many of the community’s offices, churches and schools. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing local lakes and traveling to Canada.
He is survived by his daughter, Christie Sheriff; son, Darrell Evans; son-in-law, Jeff Sheriff; daughter-in-law, Celeste Evans; grandchildren, Brianna Vinyard, Evan MacIntyre and Whitley McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Noah Vinyard, Ellis and Reese MacIntyre; brothers, Hugh Von Evans, Kenneth Evans, Tommy Evans, Jimmy Evans and Ronald Evans; special friends, Denise Sissom, Jeannie Gregory and Lori Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Evans; parents, Leland and Lois Evans; brothers, Clifford Evans, twin Bob Evans, Donald Evans and Larry Evans.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The funeral followed in the chapel.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
