Wanda Fay Green
Wanda Fay Green, 79, left this earth on May 7, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after courageously fighting through a difficult year of illness. She held tightly to her family, friends and faith until the very end.
Wanda retired from Columbus State Community College, where she was loved by many. She welcomed everyone with kindness, never judged others and lived as a true example of Christian love. She was a loyal friend to anyone who needed one and a loving, forgiving mother and grandmother. Her daughters and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she would have done anything for them.
A devoted child of God, Wanda’s faith was her foundation. Today, she is rejoicing in Heaven, dancing again on streets of gold and reunited with family and friends who awaited her with open arms.
Wanda found joy in the simple things: spending time with family, shopping, listening to Kenny Rogers, singing karaoke and dancing. She was truly one of a kind, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi Pebley and Kenneth Pebley; birth father, Ben Austin; sister-in-law, Barbara Austin; and former husband and father of her children, Gilbert Green.
Wanda is survived by her daughters, Gina Green and Georgia Bindas and her son-in-law John Bindas, whom she loved as her own; She was affectionately known as Noni and will be missed dearly by her precious grandchildren, Daisy Bindas, John Bindas, Joseph Bindas and Alexis Bindas (Brian); great-grandchildren, Sadie and Leo.
Wanda also leaves behind countless friends and relatives from her hometown of Rocky Top (Lake City), Tennessee, including her sister, Fannie Jane Horton (George); brothers, Ben Estes (Karen) and B.A. Austin; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends across Tennessee, Alabama and Wisconsin.
In recent years, Wanda made many new friends in Columbus and later in Arlington, Ohio, at The Manor and The Heritage in Findlay. She cherished her many friends, each of whom will miss her deeply.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at The Heritage, with special recognition to Deisha, Birchaven and Bridge Hospice for their loving care during the last months of her life.
Hufford Family Funeral Home, 1500 Manor Hill Road., Findlay, Ohio, is honored to serve Wanda’s family.
