MARK STEVEN GREEN

Mark Steven Green, 58, Knoxville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Mark enjoyed sports, collecting baseball and football cards, he had a great sense of humor and loved to make a deal.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Dorothy Selvidge Green.

He is survived by: Daughter, Amber Presnell and fiancé Tim Daniel of Sevierville; grandchildren, Korbin, Baylyn, and M.J.; sister, Tina and husband Glen Burress of Knoxville; niece, Ashley Osborn of Knoxville; and many other relatives and friends.

BOBBY BICE

Bobby Bice, 82, Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his residence.

He was born in Copperhill on April 10, 1937, to the late Carl Russell Bice Sr. and Georgia Mae Whitlow. Bobby was a member of Farmer’s Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, houseboating, gardening, and being on the lake. Bobby loved traveling and spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceeded in death by: Step-mother, Rachael Mitchell Bice; brother, Carl R. Bice Jr.; sister, Annette Galloway; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bice, Gladys Bice, and Norma Bice; brother-in-law, Wade Galloway; special friends, Jack and Jane Marquiss

Janice Diane Capps, 66, Clinton, passed away at her residence Friday, July 5, 2019.

Janice graduated from Fulton High School in 1971 and was a registered nurse at several hospitals in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, George “Pee Wee” and Louise Cash; daughters, Kristi Capps and Heather Saltkill; husband, Freddy Capps; brother, Larry Wayne Cash.

She is survived by: Grandsons, Austin and Alex Saltkill; son-in-law, Kevin Saltkill; sister, Lisa Estes and husband Nick; brother, Jerry Cash and wife Linda; nephews, David Cash, Steve Cash and wife Rita, and Rusty Mink; nieces, Kayla Hutchison and husband Victor, Emaleigh Reagan and husband Lee, Brandi Sutherland and husband Patrick

CORA LEE (BROWN) MILAM

Cora Lee (Brown) Milam, Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Briceville, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 4, 2019, after a lengthy illness.

Cora was saved as a young girl and has always been a devoted Christian. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Homer Milam. Cora met Homer, a young preacher from West Virginia, in the late 1950’s. But his life was cut short when he had a massive heart attack in 1977.

Cora enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved, especially the little ones. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Cora was also preceded in death by: Seven brothers, Earnest Brown and wife Reba, Elmer Brown and wife Annette, Leon Brown, Merlyn Brown, Franklin Brown, Virgil Brown, and Clayborn Brown; three sisters, Glenna Carroll, Wilma Braden, and Mary Lou Brown.

Cora is survived by: Son, Stephen Milam and wife Patti; daughter, Sharron Vance, all of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Joyce Huston and husband Robby, Richard Vance Jr., all of Cleveland, Ohio, Justin Milam and wife Chantil of Upper Arlington, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Cora is also survived by: Three brothers, William Brown and wife Bobbie, John L. Brown and wife Joann, all of Briceville, Carl Brown of Clinton; one sister, Zenna Bailey and husband Earl of Briceville; a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Jason Goans and the Rev. Charlie Green officiating.

Richard Randall Burkhart, 63, Andersonville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family July 3, 2019.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

Richard was preceded in death by: Mother, Sylvia June Burkhart of Maynardville; father, Ellis Richard Burkhart of North Carolina.

He is survived by: Wife of eight years, Janie Burkhart; daughter, Angela (Billy) Wilkerson; stepdaughter, Ashley (Paul) Langlois; granddaughters, Kaylee Wilkerson, Delana Raby, Ella Langlois, Gracelynn Barbee; brother, David (Vickie) Burkhart; sister, Rhonda Burkhart; special nephew, Dusty (Sarah) Burkhart; a host of other nieces and nephews, father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Barbara Ridenour; brother-in-law, Bill Ridenour; sister-in-law, Maria (Leo) Elliott; special aunts, Helen Roberts and Linda Ault.

KENNETH HALE McCORMICK

Kenneth Hale McCormick passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as business representative of Carpenter’s Local Union 50 for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, James T. and Rosabelle McCormick; sister, Brenda R. Towry; daughter, Kimberly K. McCormick Simmons; special friend, Earl Nelson; and father and mother-in-law, Willie and Irene Cobb.

SHIRLEY RUTH WILSON

Shirley Ruth Wilson, 71, Lake City, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her residence.

Shirley was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Knoxville to the late Leonard and Helen Jackson McCoy. She was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church. She loved Gatlinburg, shopping, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Danny McCoy.

Survivors: Son, Tony Hembree of Lake City; daughters, Misty Hembree of Lake City, Michelle Hembree of Lake City; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.

Nancy Lou Jarnigan, 65, Clinton passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her residence.

Nancy was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church. Throughout her life she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom were the love of her life, and working with the elderly. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Nancy was preceded in death by: Parents, Walter and Helen Crowley; brothers, Comer and Gary Crowley; father-in-law, Tom Jarnigan; and brothers-in-law, David Jarnigan and Mike Jarnigan.
