Kenneth Everette McCarty, 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by all his loving family Oct. 1, 2018.
He was a faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy, a 32nd Degree Mason, past member of the Optimist Club of Clinton with memories of him in the donut booth at the fair making donuts for many years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green University in 1951, now known as Western Kentucky State University. He was a retiree of Tennessee Valley Authority where he was employed in 1951 after graduating college, retiring in 1988 as Supervisor of Voucher Auditing.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Floyd and Julia Elizabeth McCarty; brothers, Estel, Woodrow, Ivon, Elgin and Carver; sisters, Marie Hall, Thelma Lee McCarty, and Clarissa Geneva Hashbarger.
Kenneth is survived by: Wife, Sharon A. McCarty, sons, Kenneth C. McCarty and wife Heather, David E. McCarty and wife Vinessa; granddaughter, Gabrielle; grandson, Zachery and Hayden, Robert McCarty and wife Nova; daughter, Sandra J. McCarty Hoesli and husband Ryan and their son grandson Carter; brother, James B. McCarty and wife Marie; great-grandsons, Evan and Landon; sisters-in-law, Eva Marie McCarty, Ruth McCarty. several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Memorial United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow with the Rev. Donna Hester officiating.
Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Sunset Cemetery with full military honors and masonic service at graveside.

Frances Edmunds Hamilton, 100, died Oct. 1, 2018, at Meadow View Senior Living Community, Norris.
She was a daughter of the late Clarence Edmunds and Blossom Edmunds Slatery of Knoxville. Mrs. Hamilton graduated in 1936 from Knoxville High School and in 1940 from the University of Tennessee. Her late husband, Lester Hamilton, was co-owner and publisher of the Herald-Press in Palestine, Texas, where they lived. In 2008, she moved to Norris to be near family.
As a young woman, she had seen President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicate both Norris Dam and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Mrs. Hamilton belonged to Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Norris Woman’s Club and Meleterion Study Club, and was active in the Episcopal Church as a member of St. Philip’s, Palestine, and St. Francis, Norris.
Her son Mark Hamilton of Bend, Ore., died in 2008.
Surviving her are: Daughter, Frances Hamilton Oates; and son, Lee E. Hamilton, both of Norris; grandchildren, include Ceris Hamilton Geoghegan (Patrick), Greenback, Markham Hamilton (Angela), Mora, N.M., Joseph Beach, Austin, Texas, Tom Oates, Church Creek, Md., Rosemary Bauer (Bob), Landenberg, Penn., Susan Oates, Ardentown, Del., and John Oates, Norristown, Penn.; great-grandchildren include, Declan, Aine and Niamh Geoghegan, Paloma Hamilton, Robert Hamilton Bauer, Emmett Michael Dwyer, and John Tae-Soon Oates.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 158 W. Norris Road, Norris.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St. Francis Playground Fund, P.O. Box 29, Norris, TN 37828.

Kenneth Kennedy, 69, Rocky Top, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1948, to Loranzy and Stella Bunch Kennedy in Anderson County. He enjoyed fishing and ginsenging and going to flea markets when he was able. In his later years, he enjoyed watching TV and listening to the radio. He was of the Baptist faith and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by: Father, Loranzy Kennedy; brothers, Coye Kennedy and Boyd Kennedy; and niece, Laura Cook.
He is survived by: Mother, Stella Kennedy; brothers, Charlie Kennedy, Ricky Kennedy and wife Karen, Lynn Kennedy and Berta Phillips; sister, Reba Cook and husband Paul; nephew, Robert Cook; and nieces, Meagan Kennedy, Katelynn Kennedy.
A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Byrge Cemetery in New River.

Jamie Bryan Jones, 45, Coalfield, passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018.
He was a Coalfield High School graduate and worked as a small engine mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and was a great craftsman who could create or repair anything. He was referred to by his family and friends as a “jack of all trades.” But most importantly, Jamie was a kind-hearted, loving man who never met a stranger and loved his family.
He was preceded in death by: Father, Jerry L. Jones Sr.; brother, Jerry Lee Jones; grandmother, Frankie Jones; grandfathers, Ben Jones and Guy Jones; great-grandmother, Kelsie Holbert; cousin, Davey Hall.
He is survived by: Mother, Lisa Humphrey and husband, Bernie;
daughter, Jamie Brianna Jones and her mother Penny Thomason; mamaw, Frances Jones; step-children, Chris, Josh, and Justin Thomason; step-sisters, Christy Gambrell and Stalene Hall; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Middle Creek Baptist Church in Coalfield. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Corey Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery in Coalfield.

Alice Phillips, 88, Rocky Top, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 6, 1930, to the late Charles and Belle Vowell Bailey in Briceville.
She was a member of Indian Bluff Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a loving person who enjoyed helping others and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by: Husband of 68 years, Virgil Phillips; children, Janie Braden and husband Rodney, Danny Phillips; grandchildren, Dewayne Braden and wife Kay, Jamey Braden, Nicole Williams; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie Braden, Kobe Braden, Chad Williams; and a host of other family and friends.

Ruth Mae Bailey, 81, Briceville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Clinton to parents Benjamin and Sarah Phillips Seiber.
Ruth was preceded in death by: Parents; husband, Roy Bailey; grandsons, Mitch Tussey and Jason Seiber; brothers, Rufus Seiber, Charlie Seiber, and Doyle “Zag” Seiber.

James Harold Robinson, 75, Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
James was born in Jellico on July 20, 1943, to the late Willard and Eloise Ensley Robinson. James was a member of Old Time Gospel in Seymour. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by: Wife, Corrine Byrd Robinson; and daughters, Terri Renee Rickett and Connie Jane Standridge Jenkins.
Survivors: Sons, Jimmy Ray Standridge of Knoxville, James Willard Robinson of Knoxville, Melvin Dewayne Robinson and Jenny of Knoxville; brother, George “Doe Doe” Robinson and Linda of Lake City.

Bulah E. Young, 97, Lake City, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, in Westland, Mich.
Bulah was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Howard Young Sr. Bulah was born on Sept. 6, 1921, in Coal Creek to the late William Carden and Ida Foust Carden. Bulah enjoyed cooking for her family and also cooking at Fox’s Restaurant. She worked in the garden and loved flowers. After retiring, she loved to quilt, watch TV, and do word search puzzles, she called it her “Book Work.”
In addition to her parents, Bulah was preceded in death by: Son, Kenneth Young Jr.; daughter, Doris Sprankles; son-in-law, Donald Ellis; daughter-in-law, Sue Young; grandson, Anthony Sprankles; brothers, Zelmer Carden, Condy Carden, and Millard Carden; sisters, Ruby Reed, Bessie McCoy, Roxie Cox, Melda Sharp, Barbara Carroll; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roy and Docie Young.
