ROBERT HOUSTON SWALLOWS 'BOBBY'

Robert Houston Swallows "Bobby,” 67, born Aug. 29, 1955, Knoxville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.
Bobby was one of a kind that could light up a room with his smile, his kind heart, and infamous laugh. Bobby was able at a young age to do what he loved for a living as a golf pro and as a golf instructor at Dean Hill and Fox Den Country Club. He later worked several years at United Printers of Knoxville and Git-N-Go of Clinton.
However, following Bobby's own recovery 12 years ago, Bobby found his true calling in life and that was to walk alongside others in recovery. He was gifted in sharing his testimony for Christ with such humility, grace, and excitement. Bobby found joy in life and shared it freely with those he met, and if you were blessed to be loved by Bobby, you knew it without doubt.
Bobby was preceded in death by: Parents, Pearl and Albert Swallows; and longtime friend David Pickell.
He is survived by: Wife of 14 years, Jolynn Newhouse; son by marriage and daughter-in-law, Alicia and Mark Newhouse; grandchildren, Weston Newhouse (9) and Adalyn Newhouse (7); sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Scott Vowell; niece and nephew-in-law, Autumn and Mark Sanderson; and great-nephews, Breck Sanderson (9) and Trey Sanderson (5).
Bobby's celebration of life began with receiving friends from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, followed by a service at Faith Promise Church. located at 10740 Faith Promise Lane, Knoxville.
In honor of Bobby's love of the Tennessee Volunteers those attending were asked to join in wearing Big Orange.

LINDA FAYE CORDELL ENIX

Linda Faye Cordell Enix, Rocky Top, passed away Jan. 1, 2023. She was 73 years old.
Linda was born in Lafollette on Sept. 11, 1949, and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life, often travelling with her father (Ralph Cordell) to play music for Bible schools. Linda was a loving and kind woman who brought joy to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, caring sister, and beloved mother and grandmother. Most importantly, she had a beautiful relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and read the Bible daily. She was reading it through for the 25th time when she passed.
Linda and her family have the assured hope that death is not the end, and she is forever with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by: Father, Ralph Cordell; mother, Helen Cordell; siblings, Phyllis Cordell, and Connie Cordell.
She is survived by: Husband of 41 years, Richard Enix; children, Christopher Enix and wife Charity, Jonathan Enix; siblings, Margaret Davis, Doris Sharp and husband Mickey, Debbie Ragain and husband Jay, Paul Cordell and wife Loretta, Steve Cordell and wife Emily; grandchildren, Luke and Noahlynn; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The family received friends at Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. with Pastor Christopher Enix officiating.
Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery.

We regretfully announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Brown (Whitson) of Claxton, Dec. 30, 2022.
Elizabeth was surrounded by her loved ones in Florida and passed away peacefully.
Elizabeth, loving mother, is survived by: Husband, Christopher H. Brown; brother, Steve Whitson; children, Jason Brown and Samantha Tronolone; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: Son, Dominic Tronolone; mother, Elizabeth Covington; father, Earl Whitson.
Elizabeth requested no services be held and that her ashes be joined with her son, Dominic Tronolone.

KEITH WOZNEK

Keith Woznek died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at his home in Clinton after battling cancer.
He is now in the presence of his Savior, Jesus. Born Jan. 9, 1950, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Harriet (Murray) Woznek and Peter Woznek, Keith lived a life of distinction, devotion to family, and service to Jesus. In the later years of his life, Keith was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, with a funeral service following. The Rev. Tyler Woznek will be officiating.
Keith’s graveside service will be at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, with full military honors being performed by the Jellico and Campbell County Honor Guard.
Keith grew up in scouting, earning his Eagle Scout in 1965. Graduating from East Syracuse Minoa in 1968, he then attended West Point Military Academy, graduating in 1972. He attained the rank of captain and was a decorated soldier, serving in the 2nd Armored Division.
As a family man, Keith would take trips with his wife, Elaine. They often vacationed at Word of Life to listen to preaching from all over the country. Keith loved being a dad until the title of “Papa” was granted to him. “The purpose of having kids is having grandkids,” he would say with pride. He deeply loved all of his grandkids.
Service to Jesus was Keith’s greatest hallmark. He taught through the entire Bible as a Sunday school teacher, lead Bible studies at work, and in retirement focused on sharing about Jesus. His greatest ministry was as “Chief Ranger” in Christian Service Brigade at North Syracuse Baptist Church. There he led many boys to become men and followers of Jesus. A verse he often quoted was Roman’s 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your Heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved!”
Keith was preceded in death by: Parents, Peter and Harriet Woznek; and brother, Kevin Woznek.
He is survived by: Wife, Elaine Woznek; sister, Barbra Parker; sons, Beau Flannery and Tyler Woznek; daughters, Wendy O’Neill, Laurie Willits, and Holly Moran; cherished grandchildren, Christian, Eli and Grace Moran, and Jadon and Gavin Woznek.

Harold Leab, 53, Caryville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell.
Harold was born in LaFollette April 1, 1969. He was a coal miner for Premium Coal. Harold was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church in New River. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, watching NASCAR, searching for ginseng, and being out in the mountains.
Harold was preceded in death by: Dad, Ike Leab; sister, Faye; grandparents, Guy and Sabra Phillips Leab, and George and Ada Phillips Burchfield.
Survivors: Mother, Imogene Burchfield Leab of Oliver Springs; sons, Dustin and Maddie of Clinton, Joshua and Jordan of Caryville; brother, Edward Leab and Jennifer of New River; sister, Barbara Patterson and David of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Lakelee, Imma, and Preston; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, Dec 31, 2022, at Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at noon, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, with the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.
A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Grave Hill Cemetery in New River, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.
TROY LEE FOUST
December 27, 2022
On Dec. 27, Troy Lee Foust went to be with the Lord.
He passed away in his own warm bed with his grandson, Chris Phillips, by his side.
He leaves behind his wife, Belle Jeweldean Foust, who loved him with 100-percent of her heart, mind, and soul. He married her 40 years ago on Dec. 23.
He also leaves behind three stepchildren, Carol, Kate and Tom and the sweetest niece Amy.
He also leaves behind many grandchildren who loved him dearly.
He was often described as three times the grandfather he didn’t have to be. He was one of the kindest men that ever walked the earth. He will be missed but never forgotten.
I am so glad you married my mom.
Due to illness in the family, there will not be any services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Gladys Marie Duncan Fateley 88, formerly of Briceville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Signature of Rockwood.
Gladys was a member of Hill Top Baptist Church in Halls. Gladys was a strong-minded individual throughout life.
She was preceded in death by: Father and mother, Marvin and Martha Harness Duncan; brothers, Joe Duncan, Lawrence Duncan; sister, Sadie Jenes; daughter, Sharon Thomas; niece, Shelvy Jenes.
Gladys is survived by: Sister, Nellie Allen; brother, Houston Duncan and Jill; special niece and nephew, Kim and Roger Gregg.

Walter (Buddy) Levi Walden, 75, Clinton, born June 10, 1947, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife of 55 years Dianne Carter Walden, and his five daughters.
Walter was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He would have been a great-great-grandfather in February to a new baby boy. He enjoyed a lot of things during his lifelong journey. The most significant was driving a school bus, but his passion was being a tour bus driver traveling across America and Canada.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Bill and Mary Ruth Walden; sister, Joyce Hannah; brother, Garry Walden; son-in-law, Eric King; great-grandchildren, Demi and Baby Windham; father and mother-in-law, Cornelius and Mary Carter; brothers-in-law, Ray Carter, Ronnie Carter; and sister-in-law, Kathy Reed.
He is survived by: Daughters, Melissa Davis and husband Michael and their children Joshua Davis and wife Jennifer, Jerrica Varner and significant other Cody Justice and their children Aiden and Aaron Varner. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, at Staff Sergeant Cornelius Carter Cemetery. Grandson, Preacher Robert Langford IV will officiate the services.
