Kenneth Hale McCormick passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as business representative of Carpenter’s Local Union 50 for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, James T. and Rosabelle McCormick; sister, Brenda R. Towry; daughter, Kimberly K. McCormick Simmons; special friend, Earl Nelson; and father and mother-in-law, Willie and Irene Cobb.
Left to mourn his passing: Wife of 44 years, Doris J. McCormick; brother, J.T. (Patti) McCormick; stepson, Tim (Beth) Stamey; step-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Rhett T. Stamey (Alicia), Taylor Kate (Tyler) Taylor; step-great-grandchildren, Logan Stamey, Lillie Kate Taylor, Landrie June Taylor, Olivia Brooke Taylor; sisters-in-law, Lillian Bowles, Colene (Willie) Ponder, Dorothy (Doug) Thompson; brothers-in-law, James (Pat) Cobb, Willie (Judy) Cobb, Robert (Jennifer) Cobb; special friends, Kay Templin, Nathan Duncan (Megan), the children of Earl Nelson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends who mourn his passing.

Shirley Ruth Wilson, 71, Lake City, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her residence.
Shirley was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Knoxville to the late Leonard and Helen Jackson McCoy. She was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church. She loved Gatlinburg, shopping, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Danny McCoy.
Survivors: Son, Tony Hembree of Lake City; daughters, Misty Hembree of Lake City, Michelle Hembree of Lake City; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral service is at 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Webster and the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.

Nancy Lou Jarnigan, 65, Clinton passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her residence.
Nancy was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church. Throughout her life she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom were the love of her life, and working with the elderly. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Nancy was preceded in death by: Parents, Walter and Helen Crowley; brothers, Comer and Gary Crowley; father-in-law, Tom Jarnigan; and brothers-in-law, David Jarnigan and Mike Jarnigan.
She is survived by: Loving husband of 46 years, Johnny Jarnigan; children, Reecia Dupes and husband Greg, Felicia Jarnigan; grandchildren, Brandon, Matt, Maleah, Miya, and Tucker; great-grandchild, Neegan; siblings, Kenneth Crowley and wife Jane, Estil Crowley and wife Gail, Lynn Daughtery and husband Junior, Denzil Crowley and wife Sherry, Timmy Crowley and wife Shenia, Tammy Davis and husband Jimmy, Donna Thomas and husband Tim, Mike Crowley and Susan Crowley; mother-in-law, Wilma Jarnigan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stittums and husband Jimmy; brothers-in-law, Neal Jarnigan and wife Patsy, Paul Jarnigan and wife Rosie; several nieces and nephews.

Paul Wilson, 76, Lake City, went to be with our Lord and Saviour Friday, June 28, 2019.
Paul passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife and daughter by his side. Paul was born April 2, 1943, to the late Mitchell Mike and Verdie Duncan Wilson. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Briceville First Baptist Church. Paul loved to attend singings, church, and all the children. He looked forward to seeing them at every church service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, ginseng hunting, singing for the Lord and sharing his testimony and love for God.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Donnie Lynn, Harold Dean, and Clarence Wilson.

Linda Faye King, 75, Lake City, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Linda was born June 3, 1944 in Lake City to the late Ed Disney and Reba Strong Disney. Linda was of the Baptist faith and a member of Island Ford Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and watching her grandson play ball. She loved her church family, and her family was her world.
Survivors: Husband, Jerry King of Lake City; daughter, Kendry Tackett and Henry of Clinton; grandson, Kadey Tackett of Clinton; sisters, Marilyn Harmon and Omer of Lake City, Jewell Glaspie and Jack of Knoxville, Rose Mary Phillips and Lawrence of Lake City; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Island Ford Baptist Church.

STELLA KENNEDY

Stella Kennedy, 95, Lake City, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1923, to the late Walter and Laura Byrge Bunch in New River. Her parents moved to Detroit during World War II and she worked at the Ford plant making bomber wings. She was part of the “Rosy Riveter Girls” and worked as a buckler, who is the person who brads the rivets on the other side. After the war she came home to New River, got married, and started a family. She was the precious mother to seven children and had the patience of Job. She loved cooking three meals a day and was the best cook ever. If you left her house hungry it was your own fault. She also loved to crochet. She had lots of tough times but she never worried. She had great strength, especially in the last few years with her fading eyesight, hearing, and only 30-percent of her heart. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: Husband, Loranzy Kennedy; sons, Boyd Kennedy, Kenneth Kennedy, and Coye Kennedy; granddaughter, Laura Cook; and siblings, Effie Ward, Esther Byrge, Norman Bunch, Cledyth Bunch, and Reafus Bunch.
She is survived by: Children, Charlie Kennedy, Rickey Kennedy and wife Karen, Reba Cook and husband Paul, Lynn Kennedy and friend Berta Phillips; grandchildren, Robert Cook, Meagan Kennedy, and Katelynn Kennedy; siblings, Carlos Bunch and wife Peggy, Margaret Leach and husband Don, Freida Bunch; and sister-in-law, Omer Carroll Bunch; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Margaret Louise Singleton Hembree, 90, Oliver Springs, formerly of Dickson, passed into eternal glory to be with the Lord June 26, 2019.
She was born on May 29, 1929, to the late James Allen and Mattie Spicer Singleton. She was born again on Palm Sunday of 1953.
Margaret was preceded in death by: Husband of 47 years, Leonard Leon Hembree; brother, Billy Singleton; and sister, Katherine O’Kain.
She is survived by: Daughters, Janet (Mike) Gibbons of Powell, Joyce (Mike) Weaver of Oliver Springs, brother, James (Dorothy) Singleton of Nashville; sister-in-law, Jackie Hembree of Michigan; six grandchildren, Megan (Justin) McGee of Johnson City, Rachel (Joshua) Reeves of Knoxville, David (Holly) Vespie of Oak Ridge, Paul (Angela) Vespie of Lawrenceburg, Jonathan (Caitlin) Vespie of Nashville, and Adam (Autumn) Vespie of Centerville; 10 great-grandchildren, Perez, Manassah and Maylee McGee, Rease Jones and Reagan Vespie, Asa and Cora Vespie, Laura Grace and Harper Vespie, Ruby Vespie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. She found joy in seeking to be a blessing to others, reading and studying her Bible, attending church services and listening to Christian radio. Her favorite station was BBN 95.3 FM. A favorite Bible verse was, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the LORD.” Psalm 122:6.
She retired from the Metropolitan Board of Education in Nashville in 1992 where she was a secretary for more than 35 years. She served in various schools beginning in the 1950’s, in later years she worked in the District III Office and for WDCN School TV network as secretary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Print Shop or to Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Missions.
Thank you to the caring staff and friends she made a Windsor Gardens Assisted Living in Powell where she enjoyed living for the past few years and to Pastor and Mrs. Garvan Walls for their visits and prayers.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.

Claude Rittenberry, 101, Clinton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 26,2019.
Born and raised in Shelbyville, where Claude and his twin brother Clyde were football all-stars. Claude was a Deacon of South Clinton Baptist Church and loved gardening.
Preceded in death by: Wife of 74 years, Doris Rittenberry; son, Claude "C.H." Rittenberry; parents, William and Hattie Rittenberry; five brothers; and one sister.
Claude is survived by: Sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Sue Rittenberry, Mark and Nola Rittenberry, and David Rittenberry; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, with a funeral to follow at 8 p.m.
