Mark Wayne Tackett, 58, Lake City, passed away June 23, 2019, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mark was born Feb. 9, 1961, in Anderson County. He was a member of the Longfield Baptist Church in Lake City. Mark loved guns, spending time with his grandkids. He was known for always being happy and family oriented. He was a loving father and grandfather. Mark enjoyed being a Deputy for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Tackett.
Survivors: Mother, Carolyn Tackett of Lake City; daughter, Samantha Nicole Brown and Jason of Norris; brother, David Tackett of Lake City; sister, Annette Woods of Clinton; grandchildren, Yazmin Woods and Jayden Brown; nephews, Tyler and Josh; fiance, Julie Culver.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home.

Stacey L. Kolopus, 53, Clinton, passed away at her home Saturday, June 22, 2019.
She was recently retired from the Oak Ridge Police Department where she worked as a 911 dispatcher and had previously worked as a dispatcher for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and her pets.
She was preceded in death by: Daughter, Rusty; mother, Glenda; and grandson, Jude.
She is survived by: Husband of 27 years, James Kolopus; son, Andrew; stepdaughter, Kelly; brother, Judd Sweitzer and sister-in-law, Carly Lincoln; sisters, Shelby Goettel and Sydney Sweitzer; and uncle, Bill Gary; and aunt, Mary Sullivan.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton Chapel.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Charles Lee Goins, 75, Stockbridge, Ga., passed away peacefully June 22, 2019, at his residence.
Charles was born on Jan. 11, 1944, at Cobb Hollow in Lake City to the late Walter “Red” Goins and Verlie Hatmaker. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Salem Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Ga. Prior to moving to Georgia to be nearer to his sons, Charles and his wife resided in the Anderson County area and he was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Rocky Top. Charles was a 1961 graduate of Lake City High School and attended Hiawasee Jrunior College before working for 24 years with Eastern Airlines and 16 years in the life insurance business. He loved kids as evidenced by his involvement with the church children's programs, as well as driving the church van for Main Street Church and substitute teaching in Anderson County Schools in his retirement. He also loved golf, traveling and the Tennessee Volunteers.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Ann Garrett, and his step-father, J.C. Copeland.
Survivors: Wife, Judith Jett Goins (55 Years) of Stockbridge, Ga.; sons, Steve Goins (Suzanne) of Buford, Ga., Mark Goins (Rebecca) of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Casey Goins, Joshua Goins, Alexandra “Allie” Goins; sister, Jan Copeland Webb (Don) Clinton; brothers, Walter Goins Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga., Nick Goins (Jennifer) of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Copeland (Kathy) of Jacksboro.
Visitation will be from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday June 29, 2019, at Main Street Baptist Church, Rocky Top.
Funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Main Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.
Interment will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday June 29, 2019, at Norris Memorial Gardens in Andersonville.

HELEN ANN McGHEE

Helen Ann McGhee, 86, Clinton, passed away June 17, 2019.
Born Friday, March 24, 1933, to Manuel and Mary Tavis in Emeryville, Cali.
She enjoyed raising all five of her kids, playing games and the outdoors where she held fairs in the backyard during the summers in Evansville, Ind. While living in Evansville in the summers they would load up their Volkswagen Bus with as many of the neighborhood kids and go to the drive-in where they charged by the vehicle and not per person. The cost was $1 per vehicle.
She was a resident of Knoxville for about 43 years before moving in with her daughter Rene for the past six years in Clinton.
She was preceded in death by: Husband of 42 years, Gilbert “Mac” McGhee; son, Manuel; parents; sisters, Lois Rose, Mary Snow, and Gloria Childress; and brother, Robert Tavis.
Helen is survived by: Ray McGhee (Suzie) of Merritt Island, Fla.; Ron McGhee (Jennifer) of Brownsburg, Ind.; Rene Holbrook (Pat) of Clinton; Mary Donahue (David) of Knoxville. She has eight grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for all of their help and encouragement through this difficult time.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral service followed at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Allen Giles officiating.
Following the service the burial took place in Circle Cemetery in Briceville.

Larry Hubert Liles, 70, Knoxville, passed away June 16, 2019, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Larry was born Oct. 22, 1948, in Knoxville to the late Noble and Madge Phillips Liles. He was a member of the Clear Branch Baptist Church. Larry was the first client of the Emory Valley Center and the first student at Daniel Arthur Rehab of Anderson County. He was not expected to live two hours after birth but celebrated his 70th birthday last October. Larry loved fishing, church, country music, art work and spending time with friends and family. He also loved playing checkers and visiting with his favorite cousin, Donna Sams.
Survivors: Brother, Tony Liles and Linda of Clinton; sister, Gwendolyn Justice and Bobby of Lake City; nieces, Michelle Liles Carnes and David, Courtney Liles Franklin and David; nephew, Drew Justice; great-nieces, Hannah Carnes, Ava Franklin and Olivia Franklin.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Norton officiating.

Dow Allison Burton, 88, Clinton, passed away surrounded by his family, Saturday, June 15, 2019.
He was born May 14, 1931, in Ensor Hollow, Gentry, Tenn., the youngest son of Alec and Jenny Burton. Dow graduated from Baxter Seminary and enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 serving as a C130 crew chief during the Korean War. After being discharged, he came to Oak Ridge to work for South Central Bell and retired from AT&T with 40 years of service.
Dow is survived by: Wife, Peggy (Alcorn) of 64 years.
They have three children: Laura (John) Kramer, Barry (Robin) Burton, and Scott (Tracy) Burton. They also have eight grandchildren: Allison Kramer, Travis Burton, Nick Burton, Mark Kramer, Alex Burton, Katherine Burton, Lauren Burton, and Sarah Burton.
He is also survived by sister-in-law, Maxine Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: Parents; brother, Sam Burton; and sisters, Virginia Maggart and Ruth Petretzky.
He enjoyed gardening, Norris Lake, Sudoku puzzles, and spending time with his family.
The family will be receiving friends from noon – 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Memorial United Methodist Church of Clinton, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m.
Graveside service will be at Grandview Cemetery of Clinton following the service. I
