CHARLES J. “CHUCK” MOSLEY

Charles J. “Chuck” Mosley, age 49, passed away on May 12, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Chuck was a proud, loving, father, husband, and friend. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Chuck was a faithful Christian who never strayed away from God and held steadfast to his faith. Chuck always made people smile and laugh; his smile was contagious. He had a big impact on many, many peoples’ lives and touched a lot of people. Chuck was truly a great man and will be missed by many. Chuck loved flying RC planes with his son, four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, reading his bible, visiting with family and friends, and spending every second possible with his wife and children. He also loved giving advice to anyone willing to listen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garry Lynn Mosley; grandparents, Charlie and Susie Mosley and Teddy and Emma West; father-in-law, James Fritts; aunts, Linda Mosley, Verlie Yarber, Vada Poore, Vena Mowery, and Virgie Carr; uncles, Vester West, Vaughn West, Virdith West, and Virgil West and very special uncle, Charles (Uncle Butch) Mosley Jr.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kisha Mosley; children, Braxton Mosley and Ariel and Nathan McHenry all of Oliver Springs; mother, Vivian Mosley of Rocky Top; brother, Greg Mosley and wife Anna of Rocky Top; sister, Kristy Braden and husband Tyler of Rocky Top; very special aunts, Patricia Mosley of Oliver Springs and Mary Harmon of Clinton; two wonderful mothers-in-law, Ann Townsend of Oliver Springs and Annette Fritts of Maryville; brother-in-law, Warren Fritts of Oliver Springs; sister-in-law, Tessa Seiber and husband Jason of Coalfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special friends, Robert and Kathy Jones and their family, Jason Seiber, Chad White, Pat Neland, David and Regenia Phillips, Tim and Jennifer Ward, Glenn and Georgetta Marlow, Gary Montgomery, and Brad Webb.

Chuck’s family will receive his friends on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Mortuary in Clinton with his Celebration of Life immediately following at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary. NOLAN PARROTT

Nolan Parrott, 88, passed away May 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.

He is now rejoicing in Heaven.

He was in the Army during the Korean war. He was a faithful member and Deacon at Edgemoore Baptist Church for 56 years. He worked for Union Carbide Y-12 for 41 years as a sheet metal worker, he retired in 1995. After retirement he loved to piddle around the barn on small projects, and loved working in the yard with his flowers. He also enjoyed traveling with his best friend and partner in crime, wife Mary Lou. They visited all 50 states and seven foreign countries.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Newton and Salley Parrott; brother, J.T. Parrott; sister, Elizabeth Nance; and son-in-law, Jimmy Silcox.

He is survived by: Wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Parrott; daughters, Kathie and husband Mike Hensley, and Debbie Silcox; son, Dr. Tim Parrott and wife Rachel; grandkids, Jimmy Allan Silcox, Travis and wife Amanda Silcox, Heather Scudder, Amber and husband Bo Pebley, Amanda and husband Brandon Godsey, Eric and wife Niki Hensley, Matthew Parrott, and Gary and wife Tamara Monday; along with 16 great-grandkids.

We would also like to thank Covenant Hospice, especially Angie T.

The family received friends from 3 – 6 p.m. Monday. May 14, 2018, at Edgemoor Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Miller and the Rev. Charles Fritts officiating, interment followed at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.

PAUL FRANKLIN HUNLEY

Paul Franklin Hunley, age 77, of Lake City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 11, 2018. Paul was born on March 5, 1941 in Lake City to the late Otha and Flossie Martin Hunley. Paul was a Baptist Minister who pastored numerous churches in Campbell County. He was a hard worker and a devoted minister. Paul loved music and his family.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his wife, M. Inez Taylor Hunley, brother, James Hunley, and sisters, Louise Hunley, and Loucille Dabney.

Survivors: Daughter, Sarah Hunley of Oliver Springs, brother, John Hunley and Brenda of Lake City, sister, Mildred Slover of Lake City, and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City and funeral service followed in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel.

Family and friends met at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m., on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 and went in procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City for an 11 a.m. graveside service with Military Honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

ROBERTA (LUCY) DERR

Roberta (Lucy) Derr, 58, Clinton, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 6, 1959, in Adrain, Mich.

Lucy was preceded in death by: Mother Asenath Rowley Belcher and father David Rowley Sr., with both sets of grandparents; brother, Allen Belcher; and sister, Vivian Fox.

She is survived by: Husband of 40 years, Ricky Derr; sisters, Helen Reeder and husband Paul of Grand Rapids, Mich., Barbara Early of Andersonville, Patty Breeden of Rocky Top; brothers, David Rowley Jr of Andersonville, Benjamin Belcher and wife Corina of Devel Lake, Mich.; stepbrother, Jimmy Rowley; stepsisters, Chris Scriver of Caryville. and Mary Davis of Athens, stepfather. Lafayett (Tiny) Belcher and wife Marcia of Briceville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins of Michigan; and lots of nieces, nephews, and lots of special friends.

Roberta’s memorial service will be held at Vasper Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended church, 289 Old Vasper Road, Caryville, at 2 p.m. June 1, 2018, with the Rev. David Seals officiating.

RONALD MACH COLEMAN

Ronald Mach Coleman, 73, formerly of Anderson County, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

He proudly served our country for more than 20 years, and worked in the medical field until he retired.

Survivors: Children, Cindy McCullar of Clinton; son, Chuck Coleman (Brenda) of Mississippi, daughter, Jennifer Keener (Marvin) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Scott, Cody, Zoe, Dalton, Miranda, C. J., Chris, Caleb, Zachery and Josh; one great-grandson, Alex.

A memorial services will be held at a later date.

ANNA RUTH MAYES THOMAS

Anna Ruth Mayes Thomas 59, baby girl of Milton E Mayes and Helen Henreitta Craig Mayes, went to Heaven April 25, 2018.

Preceded in death by: Parents; sister, Alta; brothers, Gerald, Ronnie, and James.

Survivors: Husband, Daniel Thomas of Oak Ridge; children, Chantell McGinty Pelfrey, Brandon McMillian, two other children who wish not to be named; sisters. Jeanette Morrison and husband Jack, Linda Day and husband Jerry, Susan Ballinger and husband Lee; sister-in-law, Margaret Mayes.

A perfect life, I did not live. My heart to Jesus, I did give. Washed in his blood and sanctified. At home in Heaven I now reside. John 3:16.

EARL T. MORGAN

Earl T. Morgan, 90, Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Earl was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Arvin Industries after 44 years of service. He was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Greensburg, Ind., to the late James E. and Anna Barbara Morgan.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by: Son-in-law, Randy Benefield; and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by: Loving wife, Jane Morgan; children, Susan Hammons and husband Mike, Gary Morgan and wife Elaine, Betsy Morgan, Kim Benefield, Patrick Morgan and wife René, Jason Morgan and wife Libby; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family held a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. His graveside service immediately followed at Grandview Memorial Garden with full military honors at graveside.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church food pantry.
