Alma Jean Fraker, 81, completed her life’s journey on earth, surrounded by family, and stepped into the arms of Jesus Sept. 8, 2017.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother. She was widely known for her generosity. Nothing made her happier than making Raggedy Ann dolls, quilts, and pies to share with family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: Husband, Ross Fraker; parents, Wylie and Hilda Moneymaker; brothers, R.S., Jay, and Ralph Moneymaker.
She is survived by: Daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Louis Petrowski, Barbara and Tim Ledford; grandchildren, Ben Ledford, Sara (Ledford) and husband Chuck Beddow; brother, Jimmy Moneymaker; sister, Hazel Self.
The family received friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. Her funeral services followed in the chapel with the Rev. James Saylor and the Rev. David Hicks officiating.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at Woodhaven Memorial Garden.

Carolyn Marie Clair Redmond, 69, Lafollette, passed away Sept. 10, 2017.
She was a member of World Harvester Church, and she loved the Lord with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by: Mother and father, Thelma Marie Green Clair and Earl Clair; brother, Gary Clair; grandparents, Henry and Isabell Mozingo Green; special aunts, Bonnie Green Meyers, and Geraldine Clair Malena.

Bethany Riggs, 28, Clarksville, formerly of Rocky Top, passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, in Clarksville.
Bethany’s favorite place to visit was Norris Dam.
She was preceded in death by: Mother, Patricia Hicks; and grandparents, Everette and Judy Rose.
Bethany is survived by: Father, Fred Hicks; husband, Adam Riggs of Rocky Top; children, Taylor Riggs, Skylah Riggs, Adam Nathanielle Riggs, Derick Riggs, and Haley Riggs; brother, Christopher Hicks of Halls; aunt, Melissa Wells of Oak Ridge; uncle, Larry Goodman of Oak Ridge; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bethany’s family held a memorial service for her at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. Wesley Riggs officiating.

Lissie Elliott Stooksbury, 93, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at NHC Healthcare in Oak Ridge.
She was born May 17, 1924, in Clinton to the late Tate and Amanda Wiggins Elliott. Lissie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved reading her Bible and loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Lissie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William C. “Bill” Stooksbury.
Survived by: Children, Jerry and Wanda Stooksbury, Janet and Dan Hawkins; siblings, Jean Irwin, Carl Elliott; grandchildren, Michael Stooksbury, Sarah Trepanier, Andrew Bayless; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Stooksbury, Blakely Stooksbury; several nieces and nephews and host of other family and friends.
The family received friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Darryl Taylor officiating.

Donald Lee Vanaman, Knoxville, rose to be with his Lord and Savior Sept. 3, 2017.
Don was born in Broken Arrow, Okla., Feb. 23, 1930. He was the only child of Leonard W. Vanaman and Gladys Mae Green Vanaman. He learned the value of hard work while growing up their family dairy farm. After graduating in the last senior class of Tiawah, Okla., in 1948, he attended Connors State College on a basketball and baseball scholarship. While home for the summer he met his future wife, Annabell Miller, and they married on Dec. 16, 1950. Don was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served as a member of the Signal Corp at Camp Gordon, Ga., from 1951-1953.
After returning home, Don followed in his father’s footsteps as a dairy farmer and loved fishing and gardening. He taught his three children how to ride bikes and how to play basketball and baseball. He also ingrained in his children the same values of hard work that he had learned from his parents.
In 1965 he went to work for Harding Glass Company as a glazier-foreman, later a sales manager and sales rep. He retired from the glass business in 2000.
After his wife of 53 years, Annabelle, passed away, Don married Doris Moore-Hudson of Clinton and moved to Knoxville. While living there, he served as a deacon at New Salem Baptist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by: Wife, Doris Moore-Hudson Vanaman of Knoxville; two daughters, Patricia McCann and her husband Kent, and Darlene Braziel and her husband Steve; and son Andy Vanaman and his wife Cindy, all of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jeremy Braziel (Diana) of Fayetteville, Ark., Ashleigh Webb (Jason), Andrew Vanaman, Rylee Vanaman and Annabelle Vanaman, all of Claremore, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Sicilei Redd, Chase Braziel, Brielle Webb and Kinley Braziel; also Doris’s son, Nathan Hudson, and four grandchildren, Christy, Katie, Matthew and William Hudson, and three great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, with the funeral service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kenny Rains and the Rev. Mark Gallaher officiating.
Don will be going back to Oklahoma to be buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Claremore, Okla.

ERNEST EUGENE ‘UNCLE BUCK’ WARD

Ernest Eugene “Uncle Buck” Ward, 64, Clinton, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born in Oliver Springs to the late Earnest Ward and Irene Chamblee Bragg on Aug. 31, 1953. Uncle Buck was a collector of all things. He loved auctions and flea markets, the challenges of a casino, fishing, playing video games, and helping everyone and anyone in need. Uncle Buck’s favorite part of Christmas was purchasing “Christmas Wishes” from the Christmas Tree. He felt that he was doing his part to make sure a child had a Christmas. Uncle Buck was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a diehard Cubs fan.
Uncle Buck was preceded in death by: Mother, Irene Chamblee Bragg; father, Earnest Ward; and brother, Bobby Ward.
Survivors: Son, Matthew Ward and wife Ashlee of College Station, Texas; sisters, Deborah Sentell of Clinton, Brenda Price and husband John of Wood Dale, Ill.; brothers, Billy Ward and wife Lisa of Aurora, Ill., Arthur Bragg and wife Tracy of Libertyville, Ill., Jerome Bragg of Oak Ridge, David Bragg of North Carolina; grandson, Myles; several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Visitation was from 1 – 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Uncle Buck’s brother, Jerome Bragg, officiating.
A graveside service was held following the funeral service on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lake City with Kim O’Dell officiating.

Welby “Leo” Warwick, 83, Clinton, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born Nov. 5, 1933, to the late Admiral Dewey and Willie Edna Demarcus Warwick in Anderson County. Leo was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: Brother, Cleo Warwick; sisters, Naomi Weaver, and Roby McCarrell.
Survived by: Wife, Jessie Maureen Warwick; daughter, Cindy Bailey and husband Gary of Clinton; brother, Wilbur Warwick and wife Jackie; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Alice Ann Hunter Woodfin, 81, Kingston, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at her home with her husband, Sam, by her side.
She was born March 2, 1936, in South Pittsburg and was a graduate of South Pittsburg High School. She has been a resident of Roane County since 1955 and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She was an accomplished ceramic artist, an exceptional floral designer, avid baker and very talented in crocheting and cross stitching. Ann also enjoyed fishing but loved babies and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Lee and Sarah Elizabeth Parker Hunter; brother, James Samuel Hunter.
Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Sam B. Woodfin of Kingston; children, Sammy L. Woodfin and wife Rhonda of Andersonville, Lizanne W.
