Eric Len Honeycutt

Eric Len Honeycutt passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, in Briceville, Tennessee, at the age of 51. He was born on July 14, 1973, in Briceville.
Eric loved watching football and was the biggest Tennessee Vols fan. He also had a passion for golfing. He worked at the UT Steam Plant for years, where he met some of the most amazing people. Eric was supported by many and was known for his caring nature toward his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Lowe and Billy Ray White, and his grandparents, Mary Lowe and Elzeck Lowe. If you knew him, you knew he was a fighter with a big heart.
Eric is survived by his daughters, Miracle Honeycutt and Jayda Phillips; the love of his life, Margaret Ann Guyton; his brother, Michael Honeycutt, and his significant other, Vonda Leab; his two dogs, Bandit and Bella; his two cats, Cookie and Foxy; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2024, at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City. The funeral service followed at 7 p.m. at the same location, with Charlie Burton officiating. Interment was at noon on Aug. 29, 2024, at Browns Flat Cemetery in Briceville, Tennessee.
Tom Russell

Tom Russell, 59, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away on Aug. 21, 2024, after a long, hard-fought battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), surrounded by family.
Tom was born Nov. 24, 1964, to Billy Gene Russell and Margarete Russell in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his fiancée of 25 years, Carla Brewer, who also took great care of him during his battle with ALS; his mother, Margarete Russell, also known as Omi; and his brother, Bill Russell. Tom is also survived by his children: Stephen Shipley and husband Todd Shipley, with grandson Cedric Gordon; Danieal Boliver; Jade Russell and spouse Matt Garrett; and Matthew Davis. His nieces and nephews include Stacey York and husband Jeff, Aaron, Andy, and Amber York, Renee Taylor (the favorite, or so she says), Allie Rosenbalm, Canon Martin (the actual favorite), Luke Rosenbalm, and Landrie Rosenbalm.
He will be missed by his best friends, Steven Harper and Kevin Pebley, along with the many other lives he touched in his 59 years.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Russell; brother, John Russell; and sister, Jenny Bradfield.
An avid hunter who loved the outdoors, Tom’s greatest hobby was joking with friends and family. His greatest passion was being the rock and problem-solver for all his family and friends.
Tom found his true work passion when he started his own landscaping business more than 35 years ago. He was also very handy and could fix or build just about anything.
Known for his infectious smile and light-hearted spirit, Tom had a talent for brightening even the darkest situations, often with a joke — even at inappropriate moments. He was always ready to give the shirt off his back, if he actually had one on, to help anyone close to him.
The family extends a special thank you to the Covenant hospice team, especially Cindy Roberts.
The family received friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m., with the funeral following in the chapel with the Rev. Cody Haynes officiating. Family and friends traveled to Sunset Cemetery following the service for Tom’s burial.

Joie Ray Szozda

Joie Ray Szozda, “Lucky Joe,” passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at his home. He was a proud father and grandfather who loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with them, taking them out to eat, and sharing his wild stories.
In his younger days, Joie worked as a window washer on Chicago’s tallest skyscrapers, and as a miner in the deepest copper mines of Arizona. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
“Lucky Joe” enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slot machines. His wild and crazy stories will never be forgotten.
Joie was preceded in death by his parents, Doreen and Ray Szozda, and his brother-in-law, Don Dixon.
He is survived by his children, Shane Matchette and wife Whitney, Joseph Matchette and wife Melissa, and Dina Denault and husband Lance; sister Pam Dixon; grandchildren Kyden, Kaylee, Canon, and Wilder Matchette, Terry, Brittany, Candace, Jake, and Hanna Denault; niece Mandie Dixon; as well as many great-grandchildren, great-nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends met at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. for Joie’s inurnment, with the Rev. Tony McAfee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Memorial Fund at Covenant Life Church, 151 Sycamore Place, Clinton, TN, in honor of Joie.
Carolyn Graves Fielden

Carolyn Graves Fielden passed away on Aug. 17, 2024, at the age of 100.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and unconditional love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the South Clinton community. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
During World War II, Carolyn worked in the Oak Ridge Cafeteria and later found joy in being a homemaker after marrying the love of her life, Glenn Fielden. Gardening was one of her passions, and she possessed a natural talent for nurturing plants. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for 59 years.
Born Dec. 8, 1923, Carolyn was the daughter of Herbert Graves and Lillie Frye Graves. She was predeceased by her brothers JC, Vinson, Bud, Harold, and Ellery Graves; and sisters Naomi Demarcus, Rubylee Fielden, Barbara Hutchison, Deane Pointer, and Charlotte Bell.
Her husband, Glenn, and daughter, Lisa Fielden Mefford, also preceded her in death.
Carolyn is survived by her sister Sharon (Jr) Hale of Heiskell; and her children, Kaye Russell of Clinton; Roger (Laura) Fielden of Augusta, Georgia; Debbie (Tracy) Day of Pensacola, Florida; David (Cindy) Fielden of Ten Mile, Tennessee; and Janet (Bob) Ohland of Plymouth, Minnesota.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derek (Amanda) Russell, Chad (Angela) Russell, Emily (Jason) Spence, Sam (Christy) Fielden, Jessy (Ryan) Estroff, Graham (Amber) Day, Tyler (Adonica) Day, Laura Fielden (fiancé Matt Gaston), Aaron (Emily) Fielden, Ryan (Tia) Mefford, Mike Ohland, and Jill Ohland (Tyler Fierst). Carolyn had 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family expresses gratitude to Nancy Kay Jerrell, Mary Lou Cameron and Kay Stokes for the love and care given to our mother.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral followed at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Tyler Sulfridge officiating. The burial followed at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.

Virginia Nelson, 89, of Clinton, Tennessee. entered her heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.
Waiting her heavenly arrival was her husband, Everette (Quack) Nelson; son, Terry Nelson; parents, H.H. and Daisy Singleton; brothers, William, Ben and Lawrence Singleton; sisters, Bonnie Henderson, Louise Dagley and Mildren Sweet.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Tammy Nelson and fiancé; grandsons, Eric Nelson (Pam), Ryan Nelson (Beth); grand-daughter, Kristen (Rob); great-grandchildren, Lilly, Knox, Chloe, Macie, Cole and Madison; very special friend who Virginia thought the world of, Sgt. Matt Howell of the Clinton Police Department and many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Tennova Hospital in Powell, Norris Health and Rehab, and Tennova Hospice. Also, Carrie Henderson Sells for taking care of her great aunt while in the nursing home.

Senior Airman Rylan Jase Glenn, 22, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024. He was serving as a senior airman (E-4) in the U.S. Air Force as a mission generation material handling equipment journeyman.
He was born May 18, 2002, to Jason Glenn and Valerie Collins.
Rylan lived a life full of adventure from an early age. He always had a fearless drive to experience the world. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18, and embraced every opportunity with a passion that was both inspiring and infectious.
He was a fierce protector of his loved ones and will always be remembered for his vibrant energy, infectious laughter, and kind heart. Rylan was strong and steady and was always there when people needed him most. He was a cherished son, brother, and friend.
Rylan demonstrated remarkable resilience and an irresistible sense of humor that could light up any room. His strength was not only physical but also emotional, as he always faced challenges with a courageous heart and a smile that never wavered.
His laughter and wit were a source of joy and comfort to those around him, making even the toughest days brighter. Rylan’s spirit was a blend of boundless energy and unyielding kindness. Whether through his playful jokes, his unwavering support, or his ability to find the silver lining in every situation, he brought a unique warmth and light to all who knew him.
Rylan enjoyed riding motorcycles with his fiancée, Faith. He grew up riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and enjoyed spending time with friends at Windrock. He loved his truck and working on it. He enjoyed boating, fishing, being on the lake, shooting guns, watching movies, playing baseball, camping, hiking with his dog Mango, going for long drives, and listening to music. He loved spending time with his little sisters and brother.
Survivors include his father, Jason Lee Glenn (Kristen) of Seymour, Tennessee; mother, Valerie Sue Collins of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; fiancée, Faith Ann White of Creola, Ohio; sister, Raini Juel Collins of Oak Ridge; brother, Canaan Ridge Glenn of Seymour; stepsister, Holly Alyse Ivens of Seymour; maternal grandmother, Ollie Sue Rainey of Clinton, Tennessee; maternal grandfather, Benny Joe Braden (Susan) of Rocky Top, Tennessee; paternal grandmother, Debra Jewel Glenn of Mascot, Tennessee; and aunts, Lori Russell and Keri Russell, as well as a host of cousins.
He is also survived by special friends and extended family members: Chris and Lauren Martin, Travis, Kristin, and Heidi Choate, Holden Russell, John and Eric Mason and their families, Ethan Cox and family, Nicholas Jones and family, Marcos Gutierrez, Nick Darnell, Jason Dahl and family, Guilherme Serrao, Oscar Amaya, Gabe Seyfang, Gabriela Gracida Lopez, Rachelle Miller and family, Paige Tran and family, Leah Green and family, and many other special friends and family.
Rylan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ricky Lee Glenn, and his uncle, Daniel Joseph Braden.
Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. His funeral began at 8 p.m. with Pastor Robert Melton officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at Frost Bottom Cemetery in Oliver Springs, Tennessee.

Sharon Lynn Harmon, 65, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. Awaiting her at the Heavenly mansion was her son Jamie Lynn Herrell; her parents, Thomas W. and Grace K. Arnold; her sisters, Mary Ellen Arnold and Geraldine Kite; and her brother, Samuel Roy Arnold.
Message from Sharon: “There are not words to express how very much I love my family. I pray it continues to be felt in their hearts until we meet again. Thank you all for your love and for giving me reason to be the proud mom, nana, sister, aunt, and friend to the end! Woo!!! Love, Mom.”
She is survived by her sons, Robbie Herrell and fiancée Mary Lay of Clinton, Tennessee, and Scotty Herrell and wife Betsy of Dayton, Tennessee; her brother Tommy Arnold; her sisters, Brenda (Fred) Hill, Martha (Dennis) Coday, Joan Cook, and Sandy Wells; her brother-in-law Jerry Kite; and her grandchildren, Brooklynn, Ariana, Sydney, Jaxon, and Addison Herrell. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Delmer Lee Wilshire, age 74 of Clinton, Tennessee. passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Delmer was a Crane Operator for Rexnord.
Born in Clinton on April 4, 1950 he was the son of the late R.J. and Alice Hooks Wilshire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Wilshire; and brothers, Ralph Wilshire and Elmer Wilshire.
Delmer was a very active member of Moran Baptist Church, loved his family, enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the Little Ponderosa Zoo, and enjoyed woodworking.
Delmer is survived by his second wife, Brenda Henderson Wilshire; daughters, Shawna Watson and husband Steve of Clinton, Marissa Kastelic and husband Drew of Knoxville, Tennessee. and Holly Golden and husband Steve of Andersonville, Tennessee.; step-son, Kenneth Osborne of Powell, Tennessee.; grandchildren, Scarlett Watson and fiancé Quentin Kaus and Jacob Watson and wife Jessica; special friends, Cade Cox, Corbin Cox, Leroy Phillips, Doug Wright, David Seivers and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Delmer will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 in the Sunset Cemetery in Clinton, with the Rev. Alvis Richardson officiating.
