Lillian “Josephine” Lowe

Lillian “Josephine” Lowe, 89, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Josephine was born on June 26, 1934, in Anderson County, Tennessee to William “Bill” and Mattie Hicks.
Josephine had a heart of gold and was a mother to all. She loved watching Westerns, crocheting, and her flowers. Josephine was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill Hicks and Mattie Smith Hicks; four brothers and three sisters; and her babies, Peggy, Judy and Johnny.
Josephine is survived by her sons, Howard Lowe and wife Susan and Bobby Lowe; daughters Brenda Hammond, Lillian Smith and husband Edward, and Carolyn Phillips and husband Wayde; grandchildren, Davey (Cheryl) Hammond, April (Dave) Stewart, Joey Taylor, Donna (Rusty) Bruce, Greg (Kelly) Phillips, Ambrea Perry, Chris Hammond, Tiffany Taylor, Amy (James) Maples and Holly Rose, plus 20 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tennessee.
The family will meet at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church on Friday April 12, 2024, at noon for the funeral. The Rev. Travis Freeman is officiating. Her graveside service will follow at the church cemetery.

Gary Lynn Seeber

Gary Lynn Seeber, 69, of Heiskell, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Gary worked for the Oak Ridge Y-12 plant from 1974 until his retirement in 2008. During his retirement years, Gary enjoyed working with heavy machinery, traveling, owning and managing rental property, and enjoying his grandkids. Gary was known in the community as a giving and caring man. More than 34 years ago, Gary purchased the Tanasi Rental Park on Hillvale Road in Andersonville, Tennessee. Through this investment, Gary was able to help many people within our community have a wonderful and safe place to raise their families. It was not uncommon for Gary to help others out of a critical situation, whether financial or otherwise. He was a man of his word, and a simple handshake was all that was ever needed. Gary was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, where he served the Lord alongside his family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Earl and Wilma Seeber of Andersonville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Tammey K Seeber of Heiskell, TN; son, Gregory Seeber and wife Shae of Knoxville; daughter, Lisa Williford and husband Mark of Seymour, TN; grandchildren, Colson, Chloe, and Colin Seeber; Andrew, Emily, Ashlyn, Kobe, and Alyssa Williford; first great granddaughter due in August; two sisters, Gail Copeland and Linda Miller of Andersonville, TN.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Gary’s celebration of life service followed and was officiated by Pastor Justin Pratt and brother-in-law Jerry Copeland. His graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Norris Memorial Garden.

Franklin Delano Lowe, 86, of Lake City, Tennessee, passed away on April 5, 2024, at UT Hospice. He was born on May 27, 1937, in Tennessee to Ben and Tressa Lowe.
Frank ran his own business as a meat cutter for many years, in which he enjoyed making German sausage. Frank also enjoyed golf, Thursday night Bible study group, and gardening.
He was of the Baptist faith and was ordained at Blowing Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Tressa Lowe; sisters, Caralee Lowe, Phyllis Jean Lowe, and Pauline Johnson; brother, Carlis Lowe, and Nola & Lola Matchett.
He is survived by wife Judith Kay Lowe of Lake City, daughters, Robin and Kent Barber of Lake City, Kelly and Kevin Muneio of Richmon, Michgan; sisters, Barbara Seferian and Chuck of Jacksboro, TN, and Ruth Lowe of Tuson, AZ; grandchildren, Marisa and Jeremy, Jordan & Masako, Noah, Samuel, Jonah, Abigail, Dayna, Brandon, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Bradley, Jack, Hank, and Samantha; and fur baby, Lulu.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., April 8, 2024, at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel, and from 4-6 p.m. April 9, 2024, at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City.

Etta Daugherty, 94, of Heiskell passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Methodist Medical Center.
Etta was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Sevier County, Tennessee, to Lawrence and Lillie McGill.
Throughout her life, she loved quilting, canning, going to church, and going to flea markets, yard sales, and auctions.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Daugherty; sister, Bulla Vickery; two grandchildren; and brothers, Conley and Bill McGill.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Sexton and husband Boyd of Heiskell, Bobbie McKamey of Clinton, and Alma Gardner and husband Edward of Oliver Springs; sons Leslie Daugherty and wife Patricia of Clinton and Don Daugherty and wife Alice; seven grandchildren; sister, Maudie K. Robinson of Lincoln Park, MI; brothers, James “Doc” McGill of Clinton and Clyde McGill of Lincoln Park, MI; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family received friends 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2024, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.
The funeral followed in the chapel with Pastor Blake Miller officiating. Her graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Anderson Memorial Garden.

Jennevive Mikayla Haynes, 16, of Powell, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024. Jennevive was a sophomore at Clinton High School, was very smart with a bright future and was a friend to all that knew her.
Born in Sevierville, Tennessee on Feb. 24, 2008 she was the daughter of Joseph Haynes and Silvia Clifton and husband Joseph.
Jennevive was preceded in death by grandparents, Stephen Haynes, Fernando Miranda and Inez Cruz.
Jennevive is survived by her mother and step-father, Silvia Miranda Clifton and husband Joseph; father, Joseph Haynes; grandmother, Virginia Haynes; brothers, Joseph and Joshua Haynes; sisters, Leilani Rivera, Samantha Rivera and Andi Haynes, and many other relatives and friends.
Jennevive’s family will receive her friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 1 p.m. until time of her memorial service at 3 p.m. in the Jones Mortuary Chapel in Clinton, Tennessee.

Billy Robert Taylor, 93, of Clinton, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Billy was born on April 5, 1930, in Clinton, Tennessee. He was the son of the late John and Ethel Taylor.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Taylor, brothers, John W. Taylor Jr., Rev. Andrew J. Taylor, and Carl J. Taylor. Sisters, Viola Hansard, Katherine Braden, Alma Jane Hilshorst and Alice Taylor.
He is survived by his niece and caregiver Sandra Hilshorst, nephew Lewis Braden and wife Carol and a host of loving nieces and nephews along with many friends and family.
Billy retired from the Clinton Courier where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of Hinds Creek Baptist Church in Clinton where he was an excellent pianist and vocalist. His favorite song was “The Lighthouse”. He loved reading and watching sports, especially the Lady Vols and enjoyed hunting arrow heads.
The Taylor family will receive friends on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Scott Jones officiating. Graveside services will be held on Sunday April 7, 2024, at 2 pm at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Tina Michelle Seiber, age 38 of Clinton, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Powell, Tennessee.
Tina was born on February 6, 1986, in Oak Ridge Tennessee to the late Carl Edward Hicks and Cythnia Braden.
Tina is preceded in death by her father Carl Edward Hicks and stepfather Fred Braden.
She is survived by her husband Joshua Seiber of Clinton, Tn, Mother Cynthia Braden of Briceville Tn, Grandmother Parlie Hicks of Clinton Tn, Children, Dezaray Hicks, and Gracie Seiber both of Clinton, Tn. Mother and Father-in-law Raymond and Annie Seiber of Rocky Top, Tn. Brothers, Randel Braden and wife Nancy of Rocky Top, Tn, Marty Braden and wife Amy of Rocky Top, Tn. Sisters, Melissa Hicks of Briceville, Tn and Katie Braden of Briceville, Tn. Nephew Brent Bowman.
Tina loved her kids, family, and friends. She was very intelligent and a hard worker, loving her job at the Dollar Tree. She loved to make people laugh and had a good sense of humor. Tina liked all animals but loved snakes.

Rev. Floyd Robert Scarbrough, 77, of Lake City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2024, at his residence. Floyd was born in Beech Grove on Nov. 22, 1946, to Otto and Dotty Gertrude Dodson Scarbrough.
Floyd was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and beekeeping.
He loved to preach, and pastored several churches, including: Mountain View, Island Home, Macedonia, Cedar Grove and Valley View.
Floyd loved to spend time with his grandbabies.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ellen Scarbrough and Kathy Foster.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Scarbrough of Lake City; sons, Robert Scarbrough and girlfriend Misty McCoy of Lake City, and Brian Scarbrough and wife Amanda of Briceville; daughter, Margaret and Justin McCormick of Jacksboro; brothers, Harold Scarbrough and Sherry of Lake City, Jimmy Scarbrough and Irene of LaFollette, Roger Scarbrough and Thelma of Ohio, Sammy Scarbrough of Lake City, and Lemmie Scarbrough and Kim of Ohio; sisters, Sharon King of Clinton, Brenda Jackson of Coalfield, Betty Rector of Clinton, and Jennifer Hayes and Kenneth of Pioneer; grandchildren, Kendra and Malachi Francis, Brittany and Justin Gregory, Madison, Levi and Lilly; great grandchildren, Gracie, Emma, Ainsley, Hunter and Micah; special friends, Crickett and Jim Foster, Ricky and Freda Rose, Mark McCoy and Gary Wright; and special niece, Marcia.

The funeral followed at 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Kenny Sharp and Pastor Jimmy Ault officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Hatmaker Funeral Home to go in procession to the Old Beech Grove Cemetery in Lake City for an 11 a.m. graveside service.
