Bishop wins first in pole vault

Anderson County High School sophomore Brittany Bishop won the pole vault event at the Hardin Valley Invitational with a vault of 10’0”.

The Lady Mavs place eighth as a team overall out of 52 teams.

Bishop also took third place in the 100 M hurdles with a time of 16.13.

Brandie Duff finished third in pole vault with a vault of 9’0”.

Maddie Moody took sixth in 3200 with a time of 12:24 and finished eighth in the 1600 with a time of 5:32.

For the Mavericks, Jonathan Hughes took ninth in the 400 M with a time of 51.99, a personal record (PR).

The Lady Mavs also won their first home meet.

Bishop took first place in 110 Hurdles with a time of 17.11; first place in pole vault with a vault of 10’6”; first place in 300 Hurdles with a time of 51.61; and second in long jump with a distance of 13’10.

Moody finished first in the 1600 with a time of 5:31 and second in the 3200 with a time of 12:22.

Duff took second in pole vault with a vault of PV 8’ while Jessica Meredith finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 24’8”.

The Mavericks finished second the meet.

The ACHS 4 x 800 relay team (Hughes, Hayes, Ogburn, and Logan) finished second with a time of 9:13.

The 4 x 100 relay team (Braden, Dews, Fulton, and Sickau) finished second with a time of 46.37.

Micah Sawyer took first in the 3200 with a time of 11:05.

Joseph Randolph finished second in the shot put with a distance of 35’6”.

Parker Fulton finished first in the long jump with a distance of 20’ while Jonathan Hughes took first in the 400 with a time of 53.58.
