Bruhin joins AC Extension

TYLER BRUHIN
Tyler Bruhin, a University of Tennessee alumnus, is the newest member of the UT Extension staff in Anderson County.

He continues a rich heritage of UT Agricultural Extension Agents who have served Anderson County, including Joe Hall, who retired after 42 years of service.

Tyler has seemingly always been part of the UT Extension family.

His father, Alan, is the Agriculture Extension Agent in Sevier County. Growing up Tyler can hardly remember a day that didn’t involve Extension, 4-H animal projects or livestock shows of some sort.

In fact, it was his years as a 4-H project member raising swine, cattle and sheep that are some of his fondest childhood memories. “Farm animal livestock production has been a major part of my life ever since I was young,” said Tyler.

As a youth and in his college career, he excelled in livestock projects and judging teams. His many achievements include Tennessee 4-H Honor Club, All Stars, Vol State, State Sheep 4-H Project Winner, and American FFA Degree recipient.

Those early livestock experiences led Tyler to the University of Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Agriculture Leadership. Prior to joining UT Extension in Anderson County, Tyler worked as an Animal Health Technician for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture working with the agricultural enhancement program, poultry improvement program, animal care, and market inspections. With his hands-on experience on the farm and direct involvement with Tennessee’s Ag Enhancement programs, Tyler will be a tremendous asset to our local producers and landowners.

Tyler can be contacted at the UT Extension office in Anderson County at (865) 457-6246.
