Bailey Bingham is ‘Fairest of the Fair’

Pageant winners for 2017: Tiny Miss (8-9) Cailyn Taylor, Tiny Miss (6-7) Riley Alley, Tiny Miss (4-5) Hadley Webb, Fairest of the Fair Princess Kendra Lynn Holbrook, Junior Fairest of the Fair Bayli Alley, and Fairest of the Fair Bailey Bingham.
The experience is one she’ll never forget.

Bailey Bingham was crowned Anderson County Fairest of the Fair for 2017 Monday night.

“I’ll never forget this,” she said. “I’ve met so many new people, gained so many friends,” she said.

Bingham said the pageant experience was everything she thought it would be — and more.

“It was fun and it was a learning process,” she said.

And while the “Fairest” pageant was the last competition of the night, Bingham said that was not a problem.

“I was able to sleep until noon,” she joked.

The hardest part, for her, was the on-stage question each.

“You’re put on the spot, You’re asked a question you haven’t been asked and it hits you,” she said.

Bingham was one of six young women participating in the “Fairest of the Fair,” and she noted any one of them could have walked away with the crown.

“We had a good group of girls this year,” Co-Sponsor of the pageant Amanda Hughes said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls.”

While there were some changes to the 2017 pageant — gone were the youngest divisions in the Tiny Miss portion — Hughes said the evening went …

“Awesome,” she said.

“The girls were great, we ran a little early, and the judges did a wonderful job in the selection of our winners.

Hughes said that while being “Fairest of the Fair” has always meant performing community service, the 2017 winner will have more events than previous winners.

“There is something going on every month,” she noted.

Bingham takes it all in stride, “I’m used to being busy,” she said.

“Now I’ll be busy as the Fairest of the Fair.”
