Clinton Volleyball plays in Rocky Top Tournament

The Clinton High School volleyball team competed in the Rocky Top Tournament in Sevierville over the weekend.

The Dragons topped Smith County in three sets. After dropping the first set 25-23, Clinton rallied and took the next sets by scores 25-23 and 15-10.

In their second game, they fell to Notre Dame in two sets — 25-16 and 25-20.

For Clinton, junior Annabelle Jackson had 14 points (three aces) and 10 digs.

Senior Kindrix Bean had 11 points (three aces), four kills, one assist, and one dig.

Junior Madison Lambert had five points, one kill, 31 assists, and seven digs.

Sophomore Lacy Smith had five points (three aces) and two kills while sophomore Makenzie McNeal had five points (two aces), six kills, and four digs.

Junior Abbie Stinnett had four points (one ace), 13 kills, one block, and one dig.

Clinton returns to action on Thursday when they visit Union County for a district match.

The JV is scheduled to play at 5 p.m. and the varsity will follow at 6 p.m.
