Former CPD officer dies in Mt. Union

BRITTANY FRAZIER
Mt. Juliet Police Department Officer Brittany Frazier was found deceased at her Mt. Juliet residence Saturday morning, Sept. 9.

She was 33-years old.

Frazier spent the early days of her career as an officer in Clinton.

Clinton Police Chief Rick Scarbrough issued this statement through Clinton Police Department’s FaceBook page: “In Brittany’s time here, she was always a bright light. When she first came here, she volunteered to work the Rural Area Medical (RAM) event. The following week, I received numerous phone calls and comments on how helpful she had been. Unfortunately, she was soon hired away by Murfreesboro Police Department.

“She grew up here from a great family. Our prayers and thoughts will be with them.”

The Mt. Juliet Police Department issued this statement following Frazier’s death: “Officer Brittany Frazier was found deceased at her Mt. Juliet residence this morning. At the department’s request, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to conduct an investigation into the matter.

“Preliminary information indicates that foul play does not appear to be involved. Brittany was 33-years-old and had been with MJPD for just under a year, but she had previously served in law enforcement for many years prior to joining the department.

“Brittany was a caring and outgoing woman, who was dedicated to serving the Mt. Juliet community, and her presence always brightened any room she walked into.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, and we will ensure they receive whatever support is needed,” stated Police Chief James Hambrick.

“While our department family is hurting at the loss of Brittany, we are extremely grateful for the support we have received from our community, faith leaders, law enforcement partners, and local businesses. She was well-loved by all of us.”
