ACHS Cross Country enjoying success

The Anderson County High School Cross Country Team has enjoyed a great deal of success recently.

On Sept. 23 at a meet in Bristol, Maddy Moody finished in fifth place while Mollie Longmire took 35th in a state championship-like field of 235 runners.

In the boys’ race, the Mavericks’ Kirby Logan finished 45th out of 290 runners.

At the recent Cove Lake Invitational, Josie Logan had a ninth place finish and Mackenzie Hensley finished 20th.

Moody and Longmire did not participate in the event.

For the boys, Logan finished overall while junior Grant Hayes took ninth place. Sophomore Micah Sawayer finished 10th, freshman Colin Moody was 11th, and junior Parker Owens was 20th.

The Mavericks also enjoyed strong performances by Drew Mullins, Nico Amato, Alex Baker, and Brandon Brewer.
