Martin a finalist for Mr. Football

On Monday, Greeneville junior quarterback Cade Ballard was named Tennessee Titans Class 4A Mr. Football at a ceremony in Nashville.

Anderson County High School junior quarterback Stanton Martin was one of three finalists for the award as was senior running back Dontae Smith of Spring Hill.

This season, Ballard was 123-150 passing for 2,068 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 99 times for 485 yards and seven touchdowns.

Martin completed 158 of 242 passes for 2,770 yards and 41 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 50 times for 588 yards and five touchdowns.

This season, Smith had 150 carries for 1,664 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Other East Tennessee honorees included Parker McKinney of Coalfield, the 2017 Tennessee Titans Class A Mr. Football and Cade Mays of Knoxville Catholic, the 2017 Tennessee Titans Class 5A Mr. Football.
