Dragons struggle at William Blount

The Clinton Dragons moved to 2-0 in the early part of volleyball season last Tuesday.

Clinton beat visiting Loudon in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-10, and 25-13.

For the match, senior Annabelle Jackson had 15 points (three aces), one kill, and six digs.

Senior Madison Lambert had 15 points (five aces), and 16 assists.

Senior Olivia Jenkins had eight points (three aces), and two digs.

Sophomore Emma Clevinger had nine points (four aces), five kills, and four digs.

Senior Abbie Stinnett had two points (two aces) and nine kills.

Junior KimMiyah Woodard had four points (one ace), four kills, one block, one assist, and two digs.

On Thursday, the Dragons made the trek to William Blount where they faced the host school and Maryville.

Blount County proved to be unkind to Clinton as they dropped both matches.

They fell to William Blount in three sets.

They dropped two sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-14. They won one set 26-24.

Jenkins had six points (one ace) and two digs.

Clevinger had five points (two aces), six kills, and three digs.

Lambert had three points (one ace), three kills, 15 assists, and three digs.

Jackson had four points (one ace) and five digs.

Stinnett had nine kills.

The Dragons fell to Maryville in two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-10.

Lambert had five assists and three digs.

Clinton returns to action on Thursday when they host Halls.

The JV will play at 5 p.m. and the varsity will play at 6 p.m.

The Dragons will play in the Early Bird Tournament at Oak Ridge on Friday and Saturday.

Times and opponents are to be announced.
