Trevor Linderman wins again

Last Friday, four Clinton High School Dragon wrestlers opened the new year by competing in the 2019 Bill Brimer Brawl in the Hall, hosted by Tennessee High School. One of those four Dragons is Sophomore heavyweight Trevor Linderman. The, now, 285-pounder returns to the mat off of a 2017-2018 TSSAA AAA State Championships appearance, in the 220-lb. class, as a Freshman. This season, Linderman is bigger, faster, stronger and has been an absolutely dominant force. At the Catholic Invitational, he started off his Sophomore campaign on top of the heavyweight podium. The beginning of 2019—no different.

At the Brawl in the Hall, Linderman won the 285-lb. class with ease. This is how good the big guy is—in five total matches, Linderman pinned all five of his opponents by a combined time of 5:30. If pinning five 285-lb. guys in just over one minute each is not impressive enough, here is a fun fact. The Dragons’ heavyweight claimed victory over his first opponent in 35-seconds. Oh, it gets better—Linderman defeated his second-round opponent in just 15-seconds.

Clinton Sophomore Trevor Linderman is now an undefeated 12-0 this season, and another run at a TSSAA AAA Wrestling State Title seems inevitable. Additionally, Linderman’s elite performances are turning some heads around the state. As of January 5, in the heavyweight class, Linderman is ranked third in the state, via pin-tn.com.

Linderman and the Clinton Dragons traveled to Anderson County on Tuesday night, but the match results were not available by press time. On January 14, Tennessee’s third ranked heavyweight wrestler will lead the Dragons into Powell, as Clinton squares off with the Panthers, and the Patriots of Union County.
