Bishop heading to Samford


Brittany Bishop, an Anderson County High School Track and Field athlete, has signed a National Letter of Intent to be a student-athlete at Samford University, in Homewood, Ala
Brittany Bishop, an Anderson County High School Track and Field athlete, has signed a National Letter of Intent to be a student-athlete at Samford University, in Homewood, Ala. Brittany is an indoor Tennessee State Champion and two-time outdoor Tennessee State Champion pole vaulter for the Lady Mavericks. She has held personal records in multiple track and field events and was named All-State in the 100-meter hurdles, twice. For the past two seasons, Brittany has been an Athlete of the Year Finalist for the News Sentinel Sports Awards, recipient of the All-Metro Track and Field Award, as well as an All-State Honoree in the AAA Girls Pole Vault from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. She most recently was the recipient of the Wendy’s Female 2018 High School Heisman School Winner and was the State Finalist for recognition of outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and community service. Brittany looks forward to continuing her track and field and academic career with the Samford Bulldogs, a NCAA Division 1 program out of the Southern Conference.
