ACHS Cross Country Camp set for July 8 - 12
The Anderson County High School cross country camp will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. July 8 - 9, at the Anderson County High School track, and from 9 - 11 a.m. July 11 - 12, at Songbird Trail (Weir Dam saide).
Campers grades 3 - 5 will have a one mile run on July 12; campers in grades 6 - 8 will have a two mile run on July 12.
The camp will be led by local college runners Mary Kate Longmire and Harrison Calhoun (LMU); Kirby Logan (Carson-Newman); Parker Owens (Maryville College); and Mollie Longmire and Maddie Moody (Lipscomb).
Students will learn warm up techniques, proper running techniques, plus cool down and stretching.
Campers should bring a water bottle and towell. Snacks will be provided. Cost is $15, which include a t-shirt and medal.
