Rocky Top man indicted in OR bank robbery

A federal grand jury in Greeneville returned an indictment against Warren Calvin Lavender, 31, Rocky Top, charging him with robbing One Bank of Tennessee Bank on Oct. 23, 2020.

The indictment was returned by the grand jury Nov. 18.

Lavender is accused of entered One Bank of Tennessee Bank and handing a teller a note demanding money.

Lavender entered a plea of not guilty to the indictment on Dec. 3 in federal court.

He will remain in custody until his trial, which has been set for Monday, Dec. 28.

The arrest of Lavender came through a joint effort by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Oak Ridge Police Department.
