DEA announces 20th ‘Take-Back Day’

Dispose of your unused, expired or unwanted medicines this Saturday.

With opioid overdose deaths increasing during the pandemic, the Drug Enforcement Administration announces its 20th Take-Back Day is scheduled for April 24.

In celebration of this event, ASAP of Anderson is partnering with police departments in Anderson County to provide community members with a safe and convenient option to properly dispose of their medicines. In addition, free TN Save a Life training will be provided from noon to 2 p.m. at the Corner Drug Store in Rocky Top located at 414 S. Main St. This training provides information about how to obtain and administer the lifesaving opioid overdose reversal drug, Naloxone.

The Take-Back event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the following locations:

• Clinton Police Department at 125 W. Broad St. in Clinton.

• Norris Police Department at 9 West Circle Road in Norri.s

• Oak Ridge Police Department at 200 S. Tulane Avenue in Oak Ridge.
