April 20 – vs Cumberland Gap Panthers at Clinton Game 1

Cumberland Gap Panthers were shut down by the CMS Dragons

Camden Britton led things off on Tuesday from the mound for the CMS Dragons, the Ace went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out seven and walking one, besting the Panthers by a score of 10-0. The Dragons got on the board in the first inning, when Hayden Harrell grounded out, scoring one run. The Dragons then secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning driven by singles by JP Robbins, Alex Duggins, Matt Denton and Harrell. The Dragons tore up the base paths with seven stolen bases.

April 20 – vs Cumberland Gap Panthers at Clinton Game 2

Will Brooks had all the right stuff on Tuesday for the CMS Dragons win over the Cumberland Gap Panthers 11-0. He brought the Dragon heat from the mound, going three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out five and walking zero. The Dragons secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning, contributing to the big inning included Alex Duggins, Max Wolfley, Brent Schaefer, JP Robbins, Aden Golden and Hayden Harrell, all driving in runs in the inning. Harrell led the Dragons with two hits in three at bats. The Dragons were sure handed and didn’t commit a single error. The Dragons stole eight bases during the game, with three players stealing more than one.

April 22 – vs Union County at Clinton

An early lead helped the CMS Dragons defeat Horace Maynard 8-4 on Thursday. Will Brooks came to compete and started for the Dragons from the mound. The hurler went four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits. The Dragons scored on a fielder’s choice by Camden Britton, a double by Hayden Harrell and a single by Brennan Tipton in the first inning. The second inning, charge was led by a single from Harrell and a double by Britton. The Dragons racked up 11 hits on the day with Aden Golden, Harrell, Max Wolfley and Britton each managing multiple hits.

April 28 – vs Rutledge at Clinton Game 1

CMS Dragons jumped out to an early lead over Rutledge and took home an 11-6 victory on Wednesday. Alex Duggins was on the mound for the Dragons. The pitcher went two innings, allowing three runs on one hit. The Dragons scored on a double by Hayden Harrell, a single by Dallas Beets and a passed ball during Matt Denton’s at bat in the first inning. They continued to battle in the second inning, scoring four runs. The rally was led by singles from Harrell, and Brennan Tipton and an error on a ball put in play by Beets. Rutledge scored four runs in the third inning but the Dragons still managed to pull out the victory. Harrell went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead the Dragons in hits.

April 28 – vs Rutledge at Clinton Game 2

It came down to the last play, but CMS Dragons was on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Rutledge on Wednesday. Will Brooks toed the rubber for the Dragons. The fireballer surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two. In the top of the second, the Dragons scored one run when Brooks singled on the first pitch of the at bat, however Rutledge answered with one of their own. In the top of the fourth, the Dragons tied things up at three. The game was tied at three with Rutledge batting in the bottom of the fifth, when they singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Camden Britton, Brooks, Hayden Harrell and Aden Golden all had one hit to lead the Dragons. Golden led the Dragons in stolen bases, with two, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

May 1 – vs Anderson County Mavs at Clinton

The CMS Dragons ran off with the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over the AC Mavs on Saturday. Camden Britton brought the Dragon heat from the mound, allowing seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Trent Strickland was on the mound for the AC Mavs. The righthander allowed one hit and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out five. Blake Lowe threw two and two-thirds innings in relief. In the top of the fourth inning, the AC Mavs tied up the game with three, when Noah Parks singled, scoring one run. The Dragons battled at the plate, batting in the bottom of the fifth when Alex Duggins drew a walk, scoring one run. Aden Golden, Brennan Tipton and Matt Denton each managed one hit to lead the Dragons. Golden tore up the base paths, stealing three bases. Parks went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the AC Mavs in hits.
