Mavs get pre-season tussle with Kingsport D-B
Anderson County High School’s football Mavericks will be tested in the early going of the 2021 season with Powell, Science Hill, and Fulton starting the season.
The Mavs are starting the tough sledding early, however, this Friday, Aug. 6, at The Bull Ring in a pre-season match up that would be billed a, “Battle Royale” if it were played in the regular season.
Perennial 5A powerhouse Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett will visit 130 Maverick Circle for a “little scrimmage.”
Play begins at 5:30 p.m. on the ACHS turf.
Bobyns-Bennettfinished the 2020 season at 10-3, losing in the TSSAA playoffs to Maryville.
The Indians hosted Knoxville Central July 31 in a pre-season scrimmage at J. Fred Johnson Stadium in Kingsport.
