AC freshmen win tournament
The Anderson County High School freshman basketball team won the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish Thanksgiving tournament last weekend. The Mavericks went 3-0 en route to the championship. Teams in the tournament included Knoxville Catholic, Knoxville West, Powell, Karns, Concord Christian, Cocke County, and McMinn County. Anderson County’s Brandon Dake was named tournament MVP. Teammates Hayden Craig and Trent Strickland made the All-Tournament team. The Anderson County freshmen are coached by Trey Bingham.
