Vandagriff seeking Dist. 3 seat

SHELLY VANDAGRIFF
Shelly Vandagriff has announced she is seeking the Republican nomination for Anderson County Commission, District 3, in the May 3 Primary.

District 3 includes the Fairview, Andersonville, Norris and Glen Alpine communities in northeastern Anderson County.

“After many years of community service in Anderson County, it would be an honor to represent District 3 on the County Commission,” she said. “As the fastest-growing area of Anderson County, District 3 needs a commissioner who understands the needs of this community and has strong conservative, commonsense values.”

Vandagriff grew up in the Fairview area. She is a quality manager at Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee, where she has been worked for 17 years. She attends Bethel Baptist Church.

Vandagriff has served on the NAGAF Recreation Board of Directors since 2011, serving as secretary from 2011-21. She serves on the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Jacksboro Campus Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board.

She is past president of the Anderson County Wrestling Boosters Club. She also volunteers with Anderson County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, Anderson County and Tri-County Veterans Breakfast, Tennessee Cinderella Scholarship Program, and Wreaths Across America. She is a graduate of the 2019 Anderson County Leadership program.

“I have always been involved in my community and have a heart to serve others,” she said. “ Through my community service, I have seen the needs of our district. I have developed a unique skill set to meet the needs of those I have served. As our district grows over the next four years, I would be honored to use my knowledge of the community and my experience meeting the needs of the community to work for the citizens of District 3.

“I am excited to serve the citizens of District 3 and would appreciate everyone’s vote on May 3.”

Vandagriff lives in the Glen Alpine community with her husband, Keith Vandagriff, and her four children, Justin, Carson, Lillian and Sylvia.

She is the daughter of Evert and Karen DeVente of the Fairview community.

County Primary Elections will be held on May 3. Early Voting runs April 13 – 28, 2022.
