Mav tennis squad young and hopeful
The Anderson County High School tennis team will be fresh and untested this year.
“We are a young team,” said Margarita Gillum, who coaches the team with her husband, Davey Gillum. “Most of them are beginners, so we will see how much we improve through the season.”
Anderson County returns only four players to the squad.
Malon Haverkamp and Helen Burton look to be standouts on the team and the coaches will be looking to them for leadership.
Eberle Mowles is a promising newcomer and could provide a boost to the team.
There are 20 players on the team and Gillum said she is looking to add at least one more boy.
