‘Sip of Summerfest’ this Friday in downtown Clinton

“Sip of Summerfest,” a beer-tasting event, is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Friday (July 29) in downtown Clinton, featuring breweries from the area.

To be held at 381 Market St., the event will include breweries such as Schulz Brau, Clinch River, Orange Hat, Hexagon, Honeybee, Gypsy Circus and more.

According to the sponsor, Historic Downtown Clinton, the breweries will be offering tastings of their specialty beers all brewed here in East Tennessee.

Cullom Street will be closed for this event and will have outside seating under tent coverings. There will be live music by Westwend, The Hotshot Freight Train, and Morgan Mills Country Band.

Tickets are $50 per person, and are on sale now. They include the beer tasting for four hours plus a food ticket.

Food vendors will include Shirley Boys’ Country Cooking, Apple Blossom Café, and Penne for Your Thoughts.

They will be serving a variety of food, including Polish sausages, pork barbecue, “Tennessee caviar,” pork-chop tacos, street-corn nachos, meatloaf French dip sliders, and more.

For those who don’t drink beer, there is a “designated driver” ticket available that includes iced coffees instead.

Tickets may be purchased online at tinyurl.com/mrx5enuf.

This event serves as a fundraiser for Historic Downtown Clinton, a nonprofit organization that aims to revitalize the downtown area while preserving Clinton’s unique small-town history.
