Brandon Epperly has opened his new Rocky Top Powersports shop in Rocky Top, which for now offers parts, accessories and service for a variety of off-road motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and side-by-sides.

The new business is at 540 N. Main St., in what Epperly said is the former location of a car museum, just a short distance from Interstate 75 Exit 129.

The service department in the rear section of the building has opened, but Epperly is still remodeling the 2,000-square-foot front section, which he plans to use as a showroom for used and possibly some new ATVs, dirt bikes and side-by-sides.

Upstairs, he’s planning to offer an Airbnb-type overnight rental apartment, designed with visitors to nearby off-road parks in mind – including Windrock and Royal Blue.

“We service all makes and models of ATVs, SXSs, and dirt bikes,” he said. “We also have a separate business called Rocky Top Rides, which has SXS rentals.”

Epperly, who lives in Powell, said he and his family come to Rocky Top to attend church, and he had seen the vacant building and decided he wanted to open his new business there. He formerly worked for Knoxville Utilities Board, also known as KUB.

He said the site is convenient for SXS riders coming into town off the nearby Windrock trails.

Hours, for now, are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.’

Rocky Top Powersports and Rocky Top Rides have their own separate Facebook pages. The website for both businesses is rockytoppowersports.com
