Robertsville has big challenge Thursday at home vs Norris

Robertsville Middle School’s football team faces one of its stiffest challenges of the 2023 season Thursday night when Norris Middle School invades Blankenship Field.

Kickoff for the Rams and the Senators is slated for 6:30, and Robertsville (3-2) looks to snap a two-game losing streak as it returns home after three consecutive contests on the road.

The Rams, who dropped a heartbreaker to Spring City, falling 20-16 on a late hail Mary play on Thursday, Aug. 24, lost a second straight game as it was shut out 14-0 by Cherokee Middle School in Kingston on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Robertsville Coach Tyler Carr is hoping the Rams can reverse their recent fortunes with a return home against the Senators.

“I hope we can put on a good show,” he said.

Robertsville got off to a slow start against Cherokee, and was down 14-0 before halftime.

“Our kids got a gut check and fell behind 14-0 in the first half,” Carr said.

“We had a moment where we had to find out who we are.

“We did better in the second half, and we didn’t give up any points.”
