Lady Dragons end regular season with two wins

Clinton High School’s girls soccer team closed out its best season in recent memory with two victories last week.

The Lady Dragons concluded the home portion of their regular-season schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 3, with a 7-0 victory over J. Frank White Academy to celebrate senior night.

Elly Leander and Ashley Gaetz scored two goals each for the Lady Dragons.

Addison Haney, Sadie Haney and Grace Allen also found the back of the net for Clinton.

CHS (10-3) outlasted South-Doyle Thursday night, claiming a 5-2 victory over the Lady Cherokees at Billy K. Nicely Stadium in South Knoxville.

Leander had a hat trick and dished out an assist.

Sadie Haney added a pair of goals.

Addison Haney was credited with two assists.

Shea York chipped in with one.

CHS, the No. 3 seed in the District 4-AA Tournament, opened postseason play Tuesday night against No. 2 Gibbs at Ernest Whited Stadium in Corryton.
