The 2023-24 high school swimming and diving season will conclude this weekend with the state championships.

The state meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and athletes from three area high schools will culminate their respective seasons on the state’s grand stage in the Midstate.

Oak Ridge has 14 swimmers qualified to compete at the state meet.

The Wildcats are scheduled to be represented by Andrew Chou, Stephen Zhukov, Micah Brown, Colin Suddeth, Gracie Saunders, Brennan Toth, Olivia Foy-McDaniel, Aleyna Russell, Dylan Hodge, Amelia Hodge, Rosalee Wenhame, Mason Greenhalgh, Connor O’Neil and Natalie Steger.

Anderson County will have three swimmers at the meet. Avery Coker will compete along with Donovan Rainey and Landon Rainey.

Coker will swim the 100 free and 100 back in Nashville.

Donovan Rainey and Landon Rainey, who each missed the city championships due to a prior commitment, will be at state. Donoavan Rainey will swim the girls’ 200-yard individual medley, while Landon will swim both the 100 and 200 free for the boys.

Clinton’s Isaac Childers, a senior and captain for the Dragons, will be at state after qualifying at the city championships at the University of Tennessee’s Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center during the last weekend of January.
