Mavericks, Dragons haul in All-District baseball honors

The 2025 high school baseball regular season is now in the rearview mirror for Anderson County and Clinton.

District tournament play opened Tuesday at Anderson County and Union County high schools.

First- and second-round results were not available at press time, but both schools had plenty to celebrate when all-district postseason awards were announced Monday.

Anderson County’s Josh Boynton was named District Coach of the Year after leading the Mavericks to a regular-season league title and the No. 1 seed in the district tournament.

Mavericks standout Alex Bond earned District Most Valuable Player honors, while Trent Strickland was recognized as Defensive Player of the Year. Nolan Benson claimed Newcomer of the Year honors.

Anderson County also placed four players on the all-district first team: Easton Beaty, Jeremiah Owens (who also made the all-academic team), Wil Ridenour and Clay Fletcher.

Second-team selections for the Mavericks included Reece Wilkerson, Blake Lowe and Ty Wilson.

Clinton High School, which finished fourth in the regular-season standings, was represented on the first team by Alex Duggins and Jackson Webb.

The Dragons’ Jake Rittenberry and Aden Golden earned second-team all-district honors, and Jackson Barrett was named to the district’s all-academic team.
