Paige Taylor ends tenure with 259 wins, four state trips
After 10 successful seasons at the helm, Paige Taylor is stepping down as Oak Ridge High School’s girls basketball coach.
Taylor leaves behind a legacy of excellence, having guided the Lady Wildcats to 10 consecutive district tournament championships.
During her tenure, she amassed 259 victories and led Oak Ridge to four appearances in the TSSAA state tournament.
The 2024-25 campaign was one of Taylor’s finest, as she coached the Lady Wildcats to a 30-4 overall record. Oak Ridge swept the District 3-4A regular-season schedule with a perfect 10-0 mark, captured the tournament title, and won the Region 2-4A championship.
The Lady Wildcats’ postseason run ended with a narrow 52-50 loss to eventual state runner-up Bartlett in the opening round of the state tournament.
In 2016, Taylor guided the Lady Wildcats to the state championship game. Her departure marks the end of an era for one of East Tennessee’s premier girls basketball programs.
