It was a banner year for the Wildcats, who went 36-9 and captured the District 3-4A regular-season and tournament titles.
Oak Ridge also won the Region 2-4A championship and swept Science Hill in the sectional round to punch its second consecutive ticket to Spring Fling.
The Wildcats’ 36 victories broke the school’s previous single-season record of 28 wins, set in 2024. This year also marked the program’s first-ever trip to the state Final Four.
Before the tournament began, Oak Ridge junior pitcher and third baseman Mikee Teasley was named Tennessee Class 4A Mr. Baseball on Tuesday, May 20.
Teasley, the District 3-4A Player of the Year and a University of Tennessee commit, entered the state tournament with a .391 batting average. He had seven home runs, 33 RBIs and 12 doubles.
He added to his numbers in Murfreesboro, going 6-for-15 with a home run, two doubles, seven RBIs and two runs scored.
On the mound, Teasley entered Spring Fling with an 8-1 record and a 1.16 ERA. He made one start and took the loss in Oak Ridge’s 5-4 opening-round defeat against Clarksville on Wednesday, May 21. He allowed five runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks while striking out 12 over five innings.
