Lavender Festival returns June 20-22

The annual Lavender Festival, featuring herbs, children’s activities, music and more, will once again return to Oak Ridge from June 20-22.

The main event — a marketplace with 150 artisans and food vendors — will be held at Historic Jackson Square from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21.

The event includes live music, children’s crafts and various activities. Although many items will be available for purchase, admission is free.

Throughout the weekend, additional events requiring tickets or entrance fees will also take place. Tickets are available at jacksonsquarelavenderfestival.org.



Friday, June 20

A two-day pass for garden tours on June 20 and 21 is available for $15, plus a $1.27 processing fee. Tours will run from 4-6 p.m. each day.

Saturday, June 21

The presentation “Herbs for Form & Function in the Kitchen Garden” will take place from 10:15-11:15 a.m. EDT. Tickets are $10, with a 96-cent processing fee. The talk will cover gardening with herbs.

Separate wine tasting events will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 301 Broadway Ave., featuring 24 Tennessee wines, in a benefit for United Way. Advance tickets are $25 with a $1.90 processing fee. Walk-up tickets are $30 with a $2.21 processing fee.



Sunday, June 22

Science on Tap, presented by the American Museum of Science and Energy, will offer a $30 program on the science of fermentation.

Events will include six educational sessions, a presentation and beer tasting with the Maryville College Fermentation Science Program, demonstrations from local small businesses on kombucha, bread, pickles and more, product samples, and a take-home gift.
