Artistic swimming returns
The Clinton Community Center welcomes artistic swimming back to the Paul Mikael Aquatic Complex. Family swim, normally held from 7 to 8 p.m., will be canceled each Tuesday from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18.
Spanish for
healthcare
Roane State Community College’s Oak Ridge Branch Campus is offering classes in Spanish and cross-cultural communication for health care workers. The three-week class will meet on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 19 through Oct. 23. Registration is $229. For more information and to register, visit the RSCC website.
Jazz at Bud’s
Bud’s Farmhouse Coffee, 1151 Oak Ridge Turnpike in Oak Ridge, will host Jazz at Bud’s, an outdoor concert in its parking lot near Food City. The concert will be Sunday, Sept. 28, from noon to 2 p.m., featuring Jim Hynes on trumpet, Larry Vincent on guitar and Keith Brown on drums.
Toddler Time Fridays
Oak Ridge Parks and Recreation will present Toddler Time on Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Oak Ridge Recreation Center. Children ages 4 and younger are invited for unstructured gym play.
Gym balls will be available, and strollers and toys are welcome if they do not scratch or dirty the gym floor.
Fall camp at museum
The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge will host Imagination Station Fall Camp from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3 and Oct. 6 through 10. Morning, afternoon and all-day sessions are available.
Activities include painting, garden art, Tennessee River studies, and exploration of the North and South poles. Details and registration are available at childrensmuseumofoakridge.org.
Museum’s
Third Sunday
The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge will host its Third Sunday event Sept. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 461 W. Outer Drive.
Activities include tours of the Kids Go Green! Environmental Center and Gardens, the Knoxville Area Model Railroaders clubhouse, and special programs with the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club and the Knoxville Philatelic Society.
